Seems to be one now.

Is it really any different at this moment?

Have you checked outside Tiger Stadium lately? Sometimes they can't even give them away.

Has nothing to do with Miles

Again nothing to do with Miles

I remember all the way back to the fricking late 70s buddy. This team has the same feel so what. We needed change then and need it now. Even so it took years to get it right. Right now LSU is in a tail spin, and has been for years Miles has not been able to pull us out, so get rid of him. I ask what's the difference if we keep losing the game that matter. Do you want Championships or 7-5 seasons.

Sadly ... in many instances, I have to agree with this.

Particularly last year ... just painful...and several of the games this year.

Thanks for the reminder. It should encourage us all to take the necessary steps to never let things get that way again.

Thank you. I would like to know the demographic of LSU fans that want Miles gone. Something tells me the majority never saw Jamie throw 6 INTs in the 4th Q to be devastated or Hodson throw the game winner. In fact, I assume most had they even been around then; would be the ones sending death threats to Jamie Howard. Sad really.

I'm older than dirt, or so my kids tell me. Let's go back further, shall we?

There was a coach there once, let's call him Charles McClendon. He won a lot of games, never the Big One. People in the 70's started clammoring for him to Geaux, but no, they stuck it out. LSU was only 15-20 years out from a National Title, and my gosh, Coach Cholly Mac had won so much, they really shouldn't fire him then. So they stuck it out in mediocrity until the wheels had come off.

They did make an amazing hire in Rein, but tragedy struck, and we were stuck with UHaul Stovall, who performed somewhat McClendonesque but not stellar.

Then Arnsparger came and ignited a fire with Sugar Bowl losses to Nebraska. He was getting it going, but the AD and BOS couldn't or wouldn't pony up the money so Mike Archer it was.

And Archer continued the slide to this Hallman character you speak so ill of. In fact, I agree with you that it was a bad place.

My point on this obvious history lesson, lest we be doomed to repeat it, is this: Miles is like McClendon and hanging on ...and on ... and on ... gives us mediocrity and Stovall-like coaching with very little to work with.

I also keep hearing people refer on here to us becoming Tennessee or Texas, or God forbid Nebraska (because I do remember getting our arse beat 3 times in post season play by them) but we won't, we shouldn't, and we can't if we dump Miles now while the cupboard is still not bare.

But if we keep him, we will be back to this Hallman era in another 15 years.

Exactly the majority on this board were not around for those years like you I was. Miles is played out time to move on. I think Alleva knows it but, he also knows he has to do it the right way. Maclendon was 6-5 and won his last Bowl game but lost to every top twenty team he played that year.

Used to give 'pop' quizzes at LSU after every home game then (Mac years).

Thought so much money was spent, we should never lose!

Positiger......Yes......because I know what rolling the dice could land on. Ask Tennessee and Nebraska. You can add Miami and USCw to that list as well.

Nebraska- will never be the program they were. They should have stayed an option team.

Tenn- their fall may be more a result of Georgia & Florida being better...and Bama.

Miami- Fan support is weak. Scholarships taken away

USCw- uhm you know that they were hit with scholarship limitations by the NCAA for infractions that occurred under their coach that had them elite...they really weren't that elite prior to Carroll...the 80's & 90's they were mediocre

That's right! They leave at half time or the third quarter regardless of the score.

Yes, these crying young-uns are a bunch of Johnny-come-lately's who have never had to endure the things us older FANS had to experience. Like beating ANYONE! They have been spoiled by success, and can't really appreciate 10 win seasons being ranked. Oh, the agony!

I like Les Miles. I like our football team. I'm proud era of them both. Very few coaches or teams are considered elite year in and out, yet there we are.

What's funny is hearing GA fans telling each other how until they get rid of Richt, they won't have elite coaches like Saban or Miles. They're both excellent coaches, true, but our fans are delusional in their standards and expectations. Just shut up and enjoy having a win
