That would be so wrong if he was forced to try and tackle the returner on kickoffs.

Like most kickers do so well tackling kick returners in the open field anyway. My guess is that he would make a better effort to slow the returner than most on this site.

Are you really such an arse to have an issue with Miles allowing a WALK-ON Kicker on the team?

are you really so dense that you cant see my point ? i admire the kids courage but imo having arms is an important part of playing football at any position.

You only have a point if in fact he will EVER have to tackle someone. He will not. He is on the team as a WALK ON, a goodwill gesture, he will get to kick off if we are up 65-0 against ULM in his senior season...we dont care if he tackles anyone, no one will, ever.

To point out something so trivial is no point at all.

First of all he's a walk on ... the only way he sees the field is if he's the best kicker on the team. Second, how many kickers have you seen over the years actually make a tackle in the open field?

Face it ... you're being an insensitive prick.

Quite frankly our coverage team is good enough that if he has a 60% chance of getting a touch back, then he might kick off when it counts. And though it would be advantageous to have the other arm, the odds that a kicker has to make the tackle is slim enough that it's probably worth it.

So I guess Tom Dempsey should have never been allowed on the football field ... after all, he was handicapped with only 1/2 foot.

It also would have been nice if Trindon was a few inches taller. He wasn't. He was still a valuable asset just as he was.

Russian beat you to it......

I say let him try out. If he is a good kicker, let him kick. I don't think tackling ability goes into kicker evaluations....ever.

First of all: He is not a ginger, he has brown hair. A look at any other of his pictures will confirm this. Unfortunate lighting makes him seem as if he has red hair on the LSU rooster site.
Second of all: It is ridiculous to state that it is important for a kicker to have both arms. He is a kicker, and he does not have both arms, so clearly, his handicap is not an issue. He has been given a 4.5 out of 5 rating by Khol's Kicking Camp, the national football camp with ties to the NFL for kickers, punters and snappers. He is also ranked as the 57th high school kicker in the nation. He will be kicking the kick off for LSU's first game against North Carolina, and is being groomed to take over field goal kicks next year. Please, do not talk about things you do not know about, and do not make wild assumptions that he will never see the field, when in fact, he will see it on Sept. 4th.

I see that guy at club reg all the time.
He is a ginger, there is nothing wrong with that. Plenty of people have brown hair with shades of red.
