He wasnt a power hitter. If u go back and.lool at his film he is a contact pull hitter. He is trying to hard to be a power hitter snd is getting under the ball too much hence the pop flies. He needs to get on plain with ball and get back to what got him here....line drives
Finally a rational post. At this point, it’s in his head, hence the silly error tonight. I do believe it’s also the rash of HRs he hit to start the season. Then, he racked up a ton of walks. Now, instead of hitting a pop up, he looks for a walk……hopefully. Ain’t happening with SEC pitching. He needs to get back to what got him here. I couldn’t agree more.
As far as the “fat” comment haters, they forget that MLB is riddled with, past and present, tubby punkin-headed first baseman. Hell, the Yankees had one about 12-15 years ago. Yorke needs a serious re-think on his swing. Maybe he hasn’t found a hitting coach around here who can help with his style??

It’s not all in his head, the physical attributes aren’t there. He’s fat and doesn’t have the speed or agility to play 1B in the SEC. He doesn’t stretch at 1B or make any athletic or diving plays. He also doesn’t have the upper body speed or mechanics to hit at this level. As other posters have said, if he really cared then he wouldn’t be 300lbs

Didn’t you hear his brother was a 1st round MLB pick. That means he has to be good

He came from Grand Canyon university. I didn’t know they actually had a campus. Much less a baseball team. Reminds me of a past HR manager who had her SNHU diploma hanging on her wall and made sure to have her SNHU alumni liscense plate bracket on the back of her 2007 BMW like she made it.

Well, your use of the word “fat” tells me all I need to know about you.
Nevertheless, a quick search of only current MLB considered top first basemen (about 15 listed) shows Yorke needs to lose about 40#, tops. You might be the one surprised that about 30% weigh around 240-250# and none weigh less than 210#.

He's on track to being one of the least popular LSU baseball players in some time.
And you and some of the miserable fricks on this board are proud of this, right? Bunch of worthless motherfrickers who call themselves knowledgeable baseball fans yet never played beyond wiffle balls.
