I think part of the problem was the O line which has led to problems with the run game. That being said, teams started realizing that you could use 3 & 4 man rushes and break through the line and drop 7 or 8 in coverage. So now Nussmeier is seeing too many of "them" as opposed to us. Sure our guys are getting open downfield, but it is now taking longer to find the seems and gaps, and with his line being so weak he stats doble guessing. To counteract that, he's relying on short passes and screens.....only problem is, that is what the defense wants

KiwiHead his the nail on the ole kiwi head here. I think Nuss is just a really easy guy to gameplan against now that his OLine is hot garbage. Even when he does have a clean pocket, he’s throwing at 7-8 defenders.

Was is it his injury? I don’t buy that one as much

It doesn’t explain everything, but there has to be something to it. Before this season, I didn’t trust his decision making, but his arm was good.

This season, there’s no zip on his passes and if he throws more than 15 yards, it’s like a wounded duck.

He’s not old enough to lose that arm strength without an injury of some sort.

He was much better last year but he was still more in the solid but not elite tier. If I remember correctly he was projected as possibly 1st, probably 2nd round. He never brought enough to the table for that. He's always been reckless and panicky.

I believe offensive line is part to blame but doesn’t count for the countless missed/bad reads, terrible pocket presence, or the terrible interceptions this year.

Also, stretching the field vertically and seeing open running lanes when 8 in coverage could have helped his oline and running game.
I didn’t expect him to be as good as Daniels escaping pressure but Daniels online was terrible as well and he did things to make up for it.

Joe Sloan got hired by an incompetent HC and they refused to address the OL.

The injuries are bullshite. The dude does his vertical bounce every time after breaking the huddle…been doing it all season.

Nuss does not process fast enough. JB and JD were on the opposite end of the spectrum. Imo, the most important skill for a QB to have.
