Serious question about CJJ….

Does he talk to CPM or Skip at all prior to this weekend? I get the entire ego deal but, two big time coaches to bounce stuff off of.

Likely not. They respect him enough to let him coach his own damn team without meddling. If Jay wants to talk shop I’m sure they are happy to chat, but as far as game planning and regional prep I highly doubt it

If you have a legendary coach who won 5 championships in 10 years whom you have access to, you’d be a fool not to take advantage of that, because of ego. Though, you’re asking this assuming Jay hasn’t already picked Skip’s brains. I would imagine that Jay has had plenty of conversations with Skip since he’s been here.

You don’t know Skip :That probably exactly what he is talking about.

CJJ has said that he talks to Skip several times a week. Several of Skip's players have said that Skip used to have them lay on the floor in a dark room, pre game, & visualize success. Crews has said that they do the same thing every pre game. Skip gave CJJ the small toy toilet that is used to flush a bad play out of a player's mind. CJJ said he loves it. So, obviously, they talk.

What “ego deal” are you referring to? He’s been pretty open about talking with Skip often. This place likes to make up narratives and run with them.

Jay has said multiple times how he speaks to Skip but I don't think he is seeking advice for a Regional when he has already had success in Regionals and Super Regionals. And he is definitely not going to bounce ideas off either of them he is going to create his game plan with his coaching staff.

I was thinking about this the other day actually. In no way shape or form do I think Jay would ask them to come in for Xs and Os advice, but I don’t think it’s on the realm of possibility for him to ask Skip or even Paul to come in prior to the weekend to talk to the team.
I think he would be missing an opportunity if he didn’t.
