Seems like we didn’t have as many totally blown coverages this year as we had the past few

Our secondary wasn’t the most talented, but I don’t recall seeing as many receivers running free with no one within 20 yards of them as we’ve seen in the past few years. All the talent in the world doesn’t matter if our guys aren’t in position to make plays. Improving on that was huge this year. As the talent increases, expect the secondary to be a strength.

While our secondary may or may not have been the most talented. It was probably one of our most experienced. So scheme and coaching probably helped. But the players had a lot to do with it.

That’s because Orgeron was no long the architect of the defense. It’s not a coincidence that the moment he implemented HIS defense was the moment LSU’s defense went to complete shite. Literally giving up a record performance to a QB who would be benched a few games later.

I know some had criticism for House at times this year, but what you're talking about is a testament to House and the rest of the defensive position coaches doing a great job of teaching the scheme and duties to the defense.

This isn’t about the secondary but not covering the blocked field goal attempt was totally blown..

Do you really think Orgeron was the architect of anything?

He conducted close inspection of the most perfect triangle.

The Corey Raymond affect. Could get a lot of talent but was brutal the last few years as the DB coach. Glad ppl have noticed that now. (Look how bad Florida was this year covering receivers)

That’s because they weren’t being coached by Corey Raymond.

Once we got out of the first quarter, we would settle down. Some first quarters we had opposing receivers wide open with us hopelessly chasing.
