it was a good call by the ump I hate to say but it was

So the "second" the baserunner touches the bag and the 3rd baseman catches the ball isn't when the play is over? There is actually a few more seconds for the baseman to tag (& possibly push) the runner off the bag? Just wondering....sometimes I don't get baseball.

If you get 2 outs on 2 pitches, you should be grooving the next pitch right down the middle. that's twice in this game that he threw a ball on the 1st pitch to that 3rd batter.

why are they still playing the SECT here? Birmingham just finished building a brand new ballpark. And I don't even want to open the can of worms about rotating the game around to begin with

They'd have to give up some seating but I agree. I'd like to see it rotated between the new Bham park, Memphis, and New Orleans. If they aren't going to rotate it, play it at Regions Field which is a very cool park close to the best restaurants and breweries in the Birmingham area.

These Alabama guys must practice leaning in on inside pitches.

If the ball is in the field the game is live.

this is the way it works on a force out (aka 1st base or if there are multiple runners on and no open base behind you) if the ball beats the runner he is out and visa versa. if there is an empty bag behind a guy he has to stay on the bag to be safe, if he is safe sliding in but then comes off the bad and tagged he is out.

only at 1st and home can you over run the bag.
