Is the penalty based on if the player plays in a game or if they are out on the 105 roster (deadline today)?

They’ll change the goal post either way

On roster. It's not enforceable in my (unqualified) legal opinion

This is the answer.

Nonsense. OIe Miss has an ineligible QB on their roster and the SEC said that's just fine. So we're good.

It is interesting. Brings up another question for the board legal scholars.
The SEC suit specifically states that Lane actively “RECRUITED” nfl players. Does not mention as far as I am aware anything about “SIGNING” them.
So how can the SEC go after Lane and LSU for recruiting these players yet ignore what seems to be established fact that other SEC schools “RECRUITED” nfl players too?
Seems like all it would take is one single agent or player to testify under oath that another SEC school recruited them to destroy the SECs argument.
Even better would be document like email, text or offer sheet from any other SEC school showing said recruitment.
