I have good internet, and early in the season the games streamed well. Lately, though, the constant buffering has made me quit watching. I tried yesterday and said frick it, then was so disgusted that I didn't even try to watch today

This is your ISP's fault, not WatchESPN. I watched yesterday's Auburn game all the way through in perfect Almost HD.

Also other things stream just fine. Hell I watched wrestlemania on it last night with zero issues. Netflix works fine as well.

yeah, I use Apple TV to watch. When I stream through my phone or iPad it is crap. Need to use one of those devices (Roku or Apple TV)

I was having the same problems with lag and buffering! I broke down an invested in a more powerful router for about $150 and it has been beyond worth it. Every game I've streamed has come in 100% clear and lag free!!

I've made the investment in a very good modem and a very good router. I have 100Mb/s internet through Cox. Also have ethernet plugged into my Roku3. The feed yesterday was terrible and i coudln't even watch the end of the game. Feed went in and out on Saturday as well. Same for the Tulane game.
It's either Cox, or ESPN, and i'd lean more towards ESPN, b/c i'm not having issues watching anything else.

The games early in the season had no issues. The basketball games had no issues. But recently, the baseball games have been terrible.

There's obviously something going on. Too many people with the same exact problem.
Worked fine last year. Worked fine beginning of this year. All of a sudden it doesn't work well anymore. Everything else streams fine.

I would imagine the majority have Cox internet here. I'm a cord cutter so i rely on my internet heavily, and i have not had a problem with anything else other than recent LSU baseball games. That leads me to believe it's not a Cox problem.

broadcasted now and available

This.

Those who bitch about watchESPN are probably the same ones who either never HAD to listen to Jim Hawthorne or they bitched about Jim Hawthorne. We rarely got to see a baseball game on T.V.

Thank you...same here...Netflix, Apple TV, etc all work with no issues.

But the tech gurus on here say "upgrade your stuff"

That's puzzling. I watched the game yesterday on my iPhone, with no issues.

I have 100mbps fiber, routed through an Apple Airport Time Capsule, and was outside maybe 100 yards from the house.

so has anyone using some type of apple device had an issue recently with LSU baseball games?

It could be an android app issue, or whatever Roku version of the app is, although i have not had issues watching sportscenter through the app recently, but haven't been watching anything outside of that on the watchespn app lately to really compare.

You ever think Cox may limit bandwidth to its Louisiana subscribers for WatchESPN, but not the other apps? I know Comcast was caught doing this.

Again, I have Comcast and UVerse at home, and can typically watch games over at least one of them with no problem. It is not uncommon for UVerse to be terrible at the time, and then I switch to my Comcast WiFi, and have perfect clarity.

ETA: Netflix and Hulu also have a bigger buffer since they are not streaming live events.

Like i said earlier, how come when i watch sportscenter i don't have issues?
I leave sportcenter on in the background most of the day while i work. It doesn't buffer.

I don't have an answer that would offer any definitives, but there are a ton of variables. If a lot of people in your neighborhood are streaming at the same time, your bandwidth will go down.

Do you think your neighbors are watching as well when there is an LSU sporting event that can only be seen over the internet? If so, that is going to cause a bandwidth drain on your neighborhood's extender/repeater (what the cable co uses to push internet down the line).

I know that I get games in clear HD every time, with the only variable in my world being the 2 different ISPs I use.

That doesn't explain why all the basketball games worked flawlessly, as well as the baseball games at the beginning of the season. I watched every second of the Cincy series and did not have a single issue, and i'd imagine that was the most watch series thus far being opening weekend.

The only issues I have are some slow points where the audio will drop out, and when trying to watch the replay of a game I missed. Ont he replay, it freezes on the first commercial break and I cannot get past it. If you restart it, it freezes in the same spot again.

Its Watch ESPN. Its not on your cable line-up. I could be wrong but I think its only available at espn.com, or the espn app for your phone. Once you launch the application, and click on a game to watch, youll be prompted to select your provider (direct tv), then you will be asked for your direct tv user name and password. If you don't have an online account with direct tv, I would suggest you go ahead and set one up.
