SECN Announcers were awful

Made the mistake of watching the 2nd half of the game with the sound up. What a mistake. Those guys were pretty much unwatchable/unlistenable.
The SEC should be embarrassed paying for that crap. Back to mute for future games.

You don’t like listening to guys talk about organic gardening?
I didn’t mind it. The game was a boring blowout and they kept things light with the back and forth ribbing.

I guess you never listened to mlb announcers during a boring game. Some of the best known announcers do it all the time.

Baseball and football announcing are COMPLETELY different.

in their defense, they hang out a lot for weeks at a time. eat together, work together, etc.

They sucked. If your game is boring, and the second half was thanks to Pelini’s suddenly effective D, talk other current football, not chicken fried bacon or old movies.
But for their credit they didn’t predict or explain what was not happening on the field and do a 180 and can’t claim that’s what they were saying all along.
Finally they were talking, so I could claim to be listening and shush my talkative wife!

I have never been the “Man those announcers suck! They hate LSU! “- guy.
I am fine with Aikman/Buck, Collinsworth/Michaels, even Verne.
But goddammit....last nights announcers sounded like they were last minute pickups from a H.S. game. Combined with the shitty graphics, it was a bad watch. We got the play clock added to the screen with about 5:00 left in the game and a sporadic yellow 1st Down line.

they spent 30 min talking about Joanne Woodward but i was ok with that since my mom and aunts went to school with her and she does LSU proud

I didn’t think they were that bad. From the beginning the guy gave Myles Brennan more credit for his performance last week than most “fans” on this board. They were also very complimentary of LSU. But it was funny when Harris intercepted the ball they said “John Emery Jr with the pick.” I don’t see how they made that mistake after calling his name on offense and talking about him quite a bit. But they both are #4 so.
