If we win tomorrow and take the SEC tourney is a national seed still a possibility or no?

I would think it would be.

If LSU won today and rolled through the SEC tourney, they would have to be considered in national seed discussion. RPI would be on the 10 thru 13 if not higher. You look at the last 10 games we would be 9-1.

From Kendall Rogers Roundup:
Elsewhere, another win by UW this weekend likely locks up a host site, and potentially even more, while Rice and UH remain safe bets despite Louisville, LSU and Liberty hot on their heels.
and LSU is coming on strong after clinching a series win over Auburn on the road with a commanding 11-3 victory. LSU righthanded pitcher Aaron Nola struck out nine, walked one and allowed just five hits in seven innings.
There are no changes to the host sites as it stands right now, but that could change by the end of the weekend. Another team to potentially watch for is Texas. The Longhorns no-hit Kansas State on Friday with Dillon Peters and Morgan Cooper leading the way. UT has the RPI of a host, but its conference standing has been a major hindrance the past couple of weeks

We are kind of stuck in the middle of a problem here.
I guess we probably want Vanderbilt to beat South Carolina so they fall to 6th in the conference. SC would still have a higher RPI, and better record than us against the top 25 & top 50, better SOS, but hopefully they committee falls back on a 6th place SEC finish.
That and we didn't play SC head-to-head so a conference standing might carry slightly more weight in an LSU v SC discussion.

If we can get the 3 and Scar is the 6 then that will be a huge game.
Still not sold on the SEC getting 5 hosts or the AAC getting 2.
Louisville swept Houston and is ahead by 5 games over them in the standings but Houston has a better RPI so it will be interesting if to see if they get 2 hosts.

Yea the more i think about it i think it'll be easy to just throw us in Lafayette as a 2 seed.

How long did you have to think about it to reach that conclusion?

He just had to add in Texas

Yeah I thought that was funny so I threw it in.
Plus its a similar case to USCe if they finish 6th in the SEC and have a top 15 RPI.

I guess they overlook conf standing for RPI. Oh wait 2011 says differently.

So Tennessee has clinched a spot in the tourney or no? The original post is confusing.
Posted on 5/17/14 at 12:04 pm to bbap
no they haven't
Tenn loses, UGA and Aub both win then Tennessee would be out

If UGA and Auburn win and Tennessee lose its a 3 way tiebreaker and Tennessee lost series to both.
No way Tennessee loses in the Starburst uni's tho
