What is the scenario for LSU to be the 3 seed?

updated LSU needs: (same situation)
- Texas A&M to win both remaining games vs Ole Miss
- Alabama to win either of 2 remaining games against Mississippi State
- Vanderbilt to win either of 2 remaining games against South Carolina

- updated: LSU can be has high as the 2 seed by winning the SEC West or as low as the 6 seed

So, if I'm reading this right, LSU has to win both games just to have a shot of getting in the top 4.

I hope LSU is #4 not #3, because LSU will use Poche on Wednesday likely against South Carolina/Mississippi State at 7:30 then Nola vs Florida also at 7:30, then in drivers seat on Saturday. I have confidence in LSU sending Florida to loser's bracket with Nola. However #3 would make LSU play at 9:30 AM against likely Vanderbilt. Either scenario would be tough. Want to avoid #3 at all possiblity 9:30 AM games at Hoover are tough.

I can definitely agree with all that. The only "problem" with that is I'd be surprised if Bama and Vandy get swept at home. The 3 is the most likely scenario at this point IMO unless A&M pulls the next 2 out their asses.

In order to get the 4 we would root for 1 of South Carolina and Mississppi State to sweep but not the other.

Ya'll think finishing 3rd in the SEC with sweeping Aubie and winning 2 at hoover will get us regional???

Certainly. That would put us at 42-15 and likely beating Florida (and possibly playing them a 5th time and losing based on your scenario) would boost the RPI into the top 15.

Top 3 in the conference, top 16 RPI, "final 4" of conference tournament, 10-5 in last 15, something like 17-12 against the RPI top 50.

That's a solid resume if it all happens like that.

to Astro and for updating the OP based on Thursday's results. Your explanation of the possibilities is sooooo superior to
what the Advocate's sports writers provide.

So if we wanted the #4 seed we could hope for:

LSU winning out (17-11-1)
Ole Miss winning either, or both of its games
Alabama winning either, or both of its games
& USC to sweep

Easiest scenario is we sweep and bama steals 1 from msu.

Problem is if Vandy takes one from USC.

he means to get exactly the #4 seed, not just into the top 4.
