I actually feel a lot better after seeing these scenarios written down. 5 of the top 6 in the standings are on the road next week. And we have the easiest opponent of the group. A lot on the table still.

I just want to get in the top 4 and avoid Tuesday. Baseball is not meant to be played single elimination.

Until you've suffered through little kids playing double elimination, after which you just sort of say "frick it."
Of course I agree with you for legit playoffs rather than conference tourneys, which are sort of weird to begin with.

It would be so fitting for olé miss if they did get swept

So if LSU sweeps we have at best a 5 seed I think
We will jump the USCe vs Vandy series loser and if neither sweeps we will jump both
If bama wins atleast one game we will be a 3 seed.
so translation we need to sweep.

let's say it finishes like this
LSU 16-12
USCe/Vandy 17-13
MSU 17-13
who gets the highest seed I believe that is a 3 way tie
edit: if it's based on percentage alone LSU get's the advantage and finishes #4

SC/Vandy play so their record will not be the same
State has tie breaker over Vandy (head-to-head)
South Carolina has tie breaker over State (better record against Ole Miss)
just added this to OP:
- MSU (16-11) has the tiebreaker over Vandy (16-11) by virtue of a head-to-head series win
- Vandy (16-11) has the tiebreaker over South Carolina (16-11) by virtue of a better record against SEC East teams
- Arkansas (13-14) has the tiebreaker over Texas A&M (13-14) by virtue of a head-to-head series win
- South Carolina has the tiebreaker over Mississippi State by virtue of better record against Ole Miss
- LSU finishing 16-12-1 (.569) would be higher than Ole Miss or Miss State finishing 17-13 (.567)
- LSU finishing 17-11-1 (.603) would be higher than Ole Miss or Miss State finishing 18-12 (.600)
State has tie breaker over Vandy (head-to-head)

I will be highly disappointed if this team does not finish as a top 4 seed in the SEC, and therefore has to play a single elimination game the first day of the tournament.

I meant that to be either or, who ever losses that series assuming they won one game.
I'll repost it
the final standings look like this
Florida 21-9
Ole Miss 19-11
Vanderbilt 18-12
LSU 16-12
USCe 17-13
Mississippi 17-13
so LSU is #4 in this scenario?

You're missing a game for Ole Miss, but yes that would land us at 4 with a bye

Did they ever do the fireworks show, if not, Alleva dropped the ball.

Yes they did it after the game Saturday night

Great job Astro!

I would love for us to win the West, but I really hope we finish in the top 4. I don't want the NCAA selection committee to have any ammo to use against us.
