most likely. My guess is that Vandy will start Buehler, their mid week guy, on tuesday, saving Beede to pitch agaisnt LSU on 5 days rest

If Vandy starts Beede, shouldn't we go ahead and throw Nola? I mean our chance to host depends on this tourney.

Hell No. You can't try and predict the committee. What's important is having Nola ready for a regional regardless of where it is.

Bc it would be double elim. We could throw Nola the second game and almost assure ourselves of a win. With the way poche has been pitching and we have been swinging the sticks why not try it?

Agreed, throw Poche Wed and take your chances. If we win we are set up nice to get to Sunday.

I wouldn't write Tennessee off as a def loss to Vandy. They could have taken 2 of 3 from UF this weekend if they don't make those errors at the end of the game Thurs night.

Didn't Tennessee win 2/3 from Vandy this year already?

Yea it was some of the worse umpiring i've seen all season but they found a way to capitalize.

Beede seems to be better than earlier this season and Vandy does the little things right. I can see this one going either way.

we're not worried about that... if Nola gets one start in our first two games, he'll have at worst 7 days of rest before game 1 of the regional.

Kendall dedicated a majority of his hosting section of his roundup article to LSU:

we entered the week with Houston, Cal Poly, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Washington, TCU, Vanderbilt and Rice as hosts. However, LSU and Louisville also are teams to watch entering conference tournament action next week.

The Tigers took a major step back in the hosting discussion three weeks ago with a series loss at Texas A&M, but have played well since, splitting a rain-shortened series at home against Alabama last weekend, while hitting the road and sweeping Auburn this weekend. I don't think the Tigers have surpassed Houston or Rice just yet, but they're close, and a strong showing in the SEC tournament might do the trick.

Going inside the Tigers' resume, they have an RPI of 16 after Saturday's victory over Auburn, while they're 4-8 vs. RPI Top 25, 12-12 vs. RPI Top 50 and 18-12 vs. RPI Top 100. LSU also finished the regular season third in the SEC standings.

Those are compelling arguments and it makes next week's SEC tournament crucial. If the Tigers don't host, a seamless transition over to the Lafayette, La., Regional likely is on the docket.

I'm not ready to officially make the switch to LSU or Louisville as host sites, but my confidence level with Houston and Rice has decreased this weekend.

Can someone please explain to me what is so compelling about Cal Poly's resume other than the fact that they have 40 wins? No games played against the top 25, just 4-4 against the top 50.

When asked about hosting situation tPOS responded-

The N.C. State-UNC game is likely to be the highest-drawing game of the tournament, even though it takes place Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. It will be the only meeting this season between the two rivals, who drew upwards of 10,000 fans in each of their previous two ACC tournament meetings over the last two years in Greensboro and Durham.

Cal Poly's resume

Nothing really stands out other than just alot of wins. They had that rough stretch in late April that I thought would kill them.

Basically they are a good team that is west of Texas in a year that needs some hosts out there.

One thing interesting about them is they have no games next week. So their RPI isn't likely to move much after today.

Is it too much to ask for a UCF/Rutgers AAC title game?
