Vandy looks weak. They got lucky yesterday. Today their luck may run out.

Fulmer has been figured out.

strangest groundout i've ever seen.
Posted on 5/21/15 at 5:44 pm to catholictigerfan
top 4, A&M batting against Fulmer (59)
Choruby lines out to center (1 out)
Barash lines out to 3B (2 outs)
Allemand hits a home run to right (A&M leads 6-0)
Birk grounds out to 1B unassisted (3 outs)

So-called top 5 pick throws a fastball that doesn't move much, cannot throw his breaking ball for strikes and mixes in an average changeup. Seems like most college hitters he's seen have simply not been smart or good enough. Aggies are both.

I hope for a 10 run rule so we can play our game earlier.

The key to hitting him is to just lay off his breaking ball, which today he can't locate. A good team will tee off on his fastball

Last weekend the SECN was hyping Fulmer so much. Was discussing with someone that I preferred Nola over Fulmer. Definitely still agree with that.

I guess I won't hope for a 15-inning game this time.

you don't have the stats that Fulmer has and have bad stuff. Sometimes a good hitting team can make a guy pay when he doesn't have his best stuff. Even Cy Young winners have bad games. Actually the AL Cy Young winner is 1-5 to start the season.

Sure, he has great upside but I see lots of holes if I'm at the top of the draft.
Swanson? No holes, and damn the next hitter showed just what an impressive homer that was by Swanson.
ETA: Kluber has been good this year, but his run support and luck in matchups have been bad. Fluky record (not a true indicator of effectiveness).

bottom 4, Vandy batting against Kent (41)
Swanson hits a home run to left center (A&M leads 6-1)
Wiel flies out to left (1 out)
Reynolds strikes out swinging (2 outs)
Toffey flies out to left (3 outs)
Pitch count after 4:
Fulmer 87
Kent 52

Yeah, and Peterson was saying that Fulmer may not actually be able to throw it for strike as often as his numbers would indicate. Scouts must be having a field day right now with this game.

I'm not trying to say that he is a for sure #1 pick, but you acted like Fulmer sucks and he is lucky to have a under 2 ERA, SEC pitcher of the year, and possible Golden Spikes winner.

He has 3 good pitches. If he is on and placing it, he's is extremely tough to hit. You cannot use this one game as a judge of him as a pitcher.
You can tell he has good stuff but if you aren't placing it well you're going to get hit by the better offensive teams like the Aggies.

All I am talking about is draft rating. He is a great college pitcher with legit pro stuff. But I am a little surprised since I was expecting more, that's all.
I'd trade Poche or Bain for him, as much as I like them and all.

Should we start some tweets bitching about why he was Pitcher of the Year over Lange?

Yes. And a thread on SEC Rant. Troll strong or don't troll at all.
