People going on about how its a shite hole baffle me. It is far from a shite hole. Parking and traffic are no problem, concessions are good (pulled pork nachos), and there are nice hotels a plenty. What is the problem?

I don't mind it, just the fact that it would be nice to go other places once in a while.

AutoZone Park is one of the best places to watch a game in the nation. Any field.

I want to say that there have been 14 unassisted triple plays in MLB history.

Cub, is there a chance that the SECT would be moved from Gumpville and rotated among other neutral sites like AutoZone Park in Memphis, Dell Diamond in Austin, or even Zephyr in New Orleans?

I doubt very seriously. No i would wager my life that the SEC tourney will never be in Austin.

Memphis- never understood the appeal of this place for some people. I have spent many months in Memphis and it is the epitome of a nasty, unsafe area.

New Orleans gets the Sugar Bowl. Probably not gonna get anything else.
Also, I would not have a problem at all moving the SECCG out of Atlanta for the same reasons mentioned for Memphis.

No, I'm saying a batter getting out 3 times in one inning.

That was a cool triple play though.

It would be pretty hard to do it. Definitely wouldn't want to be known for it.

Grayson Long at 117 pitches with 10 K's, probably done for the day.

Found This

quote:

the “most plate appearances in an inning” was listed. Seventeen names in ten games since 1893 were listed.

...was able to conclusively dismiss 15 of the 17 names. The only two names he couldn’t dismiss were Marty Callaghan in 1922 and Ted Williams in 1948

Williams had two walks and an inning-ending fielder’s choice that inning, thus making him the only player to have three plate appearances in an inning without a hit.

Callaghan “smashed out two hits and struck out once.”

The answer to the question, then, is that no one has ever made all three outs in three separate plate appearances in one inning.

I don't think Zephyr is as nice as those other stadiums anyway.

I wish the SECT wasn't tied into one location, but I am sure somebody is getting kickback $$ off the arrangement.

Catholic, hosting the tournament in a minor league park is not a problem. The ACC has theirs at the Durham Bulls ballpark.
