I’ll probably get downvotes to hell for this, but if UGA beats UT next weekend there’s likely going to be a monumental log jam of 2 loss teams to play the winner of Texas vs Texas A&M. Do we know who would win a tie breaker? Could LSU win a tie breaker?

I’m sure there will be upsets but you could have the following ALL with 2 SEC losses:
UT/A&M loser
Alabama
LSU
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Georgia
Missouri

LSU has the inside track to the SECCG and the Rant is really pissed about it.

That's a pretty cool website to play with scenarios.

Great job by whoever put that together. Chances are surprisingly high for lsu when you play around with that.

Why?

We are also in if Bama gets upset by Auburn or Oklahoma.

Or if A&M loses to Auburn and Texas loses one out of Arky or A&M

Had Oklahoma held on against Mizzou, all we’d need is Tennessee over UGA and South Carolina or Arkansas over Mizzou. Wild

Also if Vandy and A&M win in final week. Basically lsu beats everyone in tiebreakers except for Alabama depending on what happens down the stretch.

There’s just a few necessary games in order for LSU to win the tiebreak. Most simply put in a huge 6-2 logjam the tiebreaker comes down to who has the best opponent conference win %. LSU fortunately in this case did not have the 3 worst sec teams on their schedule this year: UK, Auburn and Miss St. This is why LSU most likely comes out ahead in a huge tiebreak.

All we NEED to happen is Georgia beat Tennessee this weekend or our hopes of any meaningful postseason football are over because there would be multiple teams with only 1 loss. Georgia wins then UGA and Tenn both have two losses and then it comes down to their opponent win percentage like the rest of half the conference along with us.

Georgia is a 9 pt favorite at home so as long as they win our postseason hopes are looking good.

ETA as far as the other necessary games that would really hurt if USC (who we played) lost to 14 pt underdog Mizzou (who we didn’t play) this weekend

The tiebreaker scenario where LSU is tied with 2 losses with Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, A&M, and Tennessee is stupid.

Here is each team's record vs the teams they would be tied with:

Alabama 2-1
A&M 1-0
Ole Miss 1-1
Tennessee 1-1
LSU 1-2
Georgia 1-2

I would argue that Alabama is more deserving of the 2-seed since they were the only team to beat 2 of the teams they were tied with.

But face it, there is NO good way to break a 6-way tie. 16 teams in a league is too many to not have divisions and the whole system is FUBAR.

who cares honestly, this isn't, nor was it, a championship team. When they are fired up to play, as they were against OM, they can play with anyone. When they give the effort they gave against Alabama, anyone outside of State can beat them.

LSU wins out and Oklahoma beats bama
That’s pretty much the path
Not saying it’s going to happen

You can argue all you want, but with several teams with 2 losses then strength of SEC Schedule will be the deciding factor.

In this instance, playing OM, Bama, SC, A&M, and even Vandy and Arkansas matters. OU and Florida don't help much....but it doesn't hurt as much as playing State or Auburn, or KY.

Because making the SEC championship with a chance at the Playoff would be huge.

That’s not the path at all. There are four paths:

Win out and Georgia beats Tennessee

Scenario one : Missouri loses to South Carolina and Arkansas

Scenario two: Alabama loses to Auburn or Oklahoma.

Scenario three: Auburn beats A&M. Texas loses to Arkansas or A&M.

Scenario four: Texas A&M and Vanderbilt win last week

To win a title? No. To make the SEC championship and maybe upset someone? It can happen, especially if we played A&M

Playing like we are, would we want LSU in the SEC championship??? We would just get our asses handed to us. It is highly unlikely we will win out anyway.
