SEC Replay booth

It was just reported on Atlanta sports talk radio that SEC replay booth does not have HD TV. Are you kidding me? The SEC just signed a 3 billion dollar tv contract and they can't put HD in the replay booth. No wonder they couldn't tell it was an interception.

You could tell that was an interception even if it was broadcast in morse fricking code.

The SEC should do the replays the way the NHL. Have a central facility, with state of the art equipment and competent officials to review the plays - might slow down things somewhat, but they should get it right!

Use some of that money to move the SEC office out of Birmingham Alabama

Would not matter, would still be dishonest.

yeah it's the top story on Deadspin.
Unbelievable.
And their director of officiating doesn't think it's a big deal.
I hope the PTI guys and MSM rake the Birmingham offices over the coals.

This part made me LOL:
""The way I view [officiating] is, if this isn't broke, let's not fix it," he told the Birmingham News. "I don't see any sort of emergency, oh my God, we've got to fix something here."
Sigh.
Yep, when it comes to HD, the SEC is just like your parents.
At least if your parents are anything like mine. My dad and mom come over to help with my son on a regular basis. Sometimes, when my son takes an afternoon nap or when my wife and I head out for a movie, I return to find my dad and mom watching my HD television on the non-HD stations. Often, with my dad, he'll be watching a sporting event that is playing in glorious HD. Only he's watching it on the standard station.
I'll walk in, take the remote and say, "Dad, remember, that if the entire flat screen television isn't full of image, you aren't in HD." I guarantee I've said this to him 500 times. He'll wave his hand in a dismissive fashion. "I can't tell the difference anyway," he'll say. Inevitably, I will flip to the actual sporting event in HD, it explodes on the screen, a million times better, the picture crisper, as vivid as real life. More vivid, even.
"You can't see the difference between these?" I'll ask.
"No," he'll say, sheepishly.
I've basically given up with him.

It is just inconceivable that the SEC would allow the fans at home to see a clear HD picture but not give their officials the same opportunity. It definitely could affect the calls that they make.

To where?
To Florida so you can bitch when they get calls?
Or what about Georgia?
I don't understand how people who think there is some homecooking conspiracy because of it being in Birmingham also think that the problem will be solved just by moving the place.

I wouldn't be surprised at anything BAMA does to win. The Bear cheated for years so why would anything be different now? With the SEC being located in Alabama I am sure there is not favoritism there!

Move Slive and crew to Gitmo.

Lol, not that I advocate moving the office as I don't buy in the theory as much as other.
But if anywhere, Nashville or Kentucky.
