LSU should be able to win at least two....why not? Its not like Auburn blows us out in even # years lately...and to take one from Bama at home or UGA or stealing one in the Swamp...totally possible.

Defensively, LSU could be better on the line than last year. In fact, RJF and Charles Alexander (starter til hurt) played in only two games each last year. We have an All-SEC LB coming back and three or four other guys to play the other spots. We are strong at the safety position with experienced players. The only real weakness is CB, and we could have our next AA CB starting as a frosh by game 3 or 4. Overall, we could be better than last year on D.

O-line has to be better than last year (4 of 5 starters return). We'll be strong in the running game and with Byrd, Lafell, Tolliver, we'll be adequate at WR. QB just has to be adequate and not beat us. Only has to really throw a few deep passes and be accurate on mid-range and short passes. He will run with the ball. Son, we gonna be good. I don't know if good enough, but I do have one question. What does AU have that makes them so favored?

I don't see how LSU could come off a 2 loss season where we lose the #1 overall draft pick QB and TWO first round recievers AND a #6 overall DB on the defense and improve! Just couldn't happen.... wait a minute...

I don't think 2007 LSU was a better team than 2006 LSU. The 2006 team lost at Auburn and at Florida while the 2007 team lost at home to Arkansas and at Kentucky. Each team lost two games, it just worked out for last year's team that everybody else in the country did too. The '06 Tigers would have destroyed '07 LSU on the field.

lose their top running back and emotional leader,

I really don't think we'll miss Hester. Another player will step up as a leader and all of RB's are more talented than Hester was.

lose key players on defense (including the #5 pick in the draft)

D-Line is still stacked despite the Dorsey loss. Jean-Francois could be just as good.

have big time question marks at linebacker and cornerback

I'm not so sure the LB's are a huge question mark. CB's are, but they're also talented so you never know...

I'm not saying we will improve upon last season. My prediction as of now is 3 losses. I do think, however, a one loss season is not out of the question. You made LSU out to be a team that's losing a lot. In reality, they'll be better in some positions than they were last year and some of the question marks (QB and CB) could end up performing better than expected considering our ability to reload.
