In my 50+ years of experience in the SEC, the support staff has been awesome, giving everyone a friendly, "Roll Tide!" and always asking if I need a pretty co-ed escort or a loaner car while in town. They have an incredible remedial learning program in Tuscaloosa, and with Title IX funding, have been able to provide a great training center at the University of Alabama that includes brass poles, twerking mirrors, serving trays and touch-a-picture cash registers to train their graduates for exciting career opportunities after graduating.
All the good aside, upper management uses a management style that can only be described as opaque. Nobody can access any of the C-level executives. Calls for comment, action or consideration by members or credentialed press are ignored. The only way to catch any of their attention is when they're at the bank cashing out money orders, usually when an Alabama-based SEC referee or Alabama athlete drives them to the bank in a new Dodge Challenger.
The facilities are the finest the member schools can buy, with large spacious rooms large enough to park an elephant ridden by a midget. A must visit is the Room of Calls, where key game changing opposition penalties in Alabama history are showcased alongside the 108 football championships Alabama has won. Furniture in this room is covered in faux elephant leather and hand stitched using stretched truth and outright lies. A must see on your next visit!
