It’s about not having to incur the significant expenses of non-conf game (particularly the mid major and d-2 schools you have to pay 6-7 figures to for a game) when you can’t make it up with a sell out home crowd.

Every major college athletic program is in line to miss out on a ton or revenue this year because of canceled seasons and little to no ticket sales for the sports that do play. The schools are doing their best to cut expenses where they can.

Blame those pushing for this unprecedented overreaction to the “pandemic”, not the AD’s trying to make the best of it

I'm definitely not blaming the ADs it just shows how stupid the whole thing is. We know it's not as dangerous or deadly as playing football and individuals don't get to assess their own risk tolerance anymore. It's all a racket at this point.

Don’t ask me how I know this but there is conference vote on the matter scheduled for tomorrow. To be clear vote on whether to play as scheduled, delay the start, or move to spring and to go conference only or not. Moving to spring is the last thing anyone wants though so don’t expect that.

So conf only would be the spring option.

Not a fan of that idea but it’ll probably be the vote

The ACC Commissioner and the conference AD's are freaking idiots for approving this.

ND is splitting their NBC money with the conference from what I understand. Probably only reason why they allowed ND in for 2020. A good financial move by the ACC.

And after they announce that they will begin dropping hints that the whole season will be cancelled

So safe enough to play SEC teams but not non-conference. We're taking the virus super "seriously" in the SEC apparently lol

Interesting that it’s safe to play aTm but not Texas.

I think it would be reasonable to play a conference schedule plus one OOC game near your home or an instate rival.

LSU v Texas
Georgia be Georgia tech
USCe vs Clemson
Florida vs FSU

I think LSU needs to just reschedule UT honestly if they can. Can shift that crap UCLA game next year with it.
