Here are the highlights from Linehan at Dallas.
That’s a whole lot of “facts” without a single link. Where are these quotes you’re talking about? Unless you can prove you’re Tony Romo, why don’t you back that shite up?

So 4 different NFL teams hired him to be their OC...why?
The nfl retread is a very real thing. It’s pretty absurd how many chances failed coaches get in that league,

Coach O has not built a program on magic aura but on hard work good hires and fantastic recruitment.
Get the f@ck out with magic aura bullsh!t.

The Binder: we will hire the best coordinators in football.
Now looks like getting guys based on potential longevity is a greater priority HOWEVER I think that this board would complain no matter who was hired. It’s what we do. I do think there’s a shock factor based on Linehan never being linked to the job and all signs pointing to O going the “Brady route” if you will. (Young nfl asst looking for a step up on the ladder)
I guess the two biggest questions I have pertain to his lack of recent experience in the ever evolving college game and of course recruiting. I do think it’s far from a terrible hire though, especially since he’s not going to be the out and out OC. Of course you’re still banking on E having made some kind of huge strides as a play caller and schemer.
Hopefully mangas sticks around as an analyst to be the conduit to all the Brady RPO stuff. The “Saints passing offense” 4 vertical concepts are things Linehan will be well versed in.

Agreed. With the talent and skill on the Tigers offense, any experienced and knowledgeable pro passing game coordinator will thrive in O’s system. Remember, Sean Payton said an inexperienced Joe Brady was making a big mistake by leaving the Saints for LSU....he only helped us win the natty! Geaux Tigers!

O also hired Cam, but that was before we trusted in him.

O didn't hire Cam.
He did hire Canada and E and we know how those offensives looked/ranked

I’m not arguing for or against him but what would you describe rankings or records as, if you weren’t going to describe them as facts?
Sean Payton is universally considered one of the best offensive minds in football, if not the best. In his 13 years in New Orleans, he’s fielded 8 top 5 scoring offenses.
But the 5 years before that, the 5 years that were pivotal in him climbing up the coaching ranks to the point that he was held in high enough regard to be considered a head coach candidate, his offenses were rather unimpressive.
His three years in NY, his offenses ranked 19th on average, and got worse every year he was there. Then his two seasons in Dallas before getting the Saints gig, those offenses ranked 22nd on average, and again, they got worse while he was there.
Those per game stats don’t tell you anything about how good or how bad a coach is. How many hands go into that ranking? Definitely more than one guy. Linehan May be the best PGC to ever walk the earth. Nobody knows, and that’s why these melts are so stupid.

I am being honest when I say this, he shouldn't have been hired on as an analyst here let alone the to a coaching position. I will trust O that he has a plan, but damn this is a gut punch.
these people don’t wanna hear facts. they think you should love the hire cause he has NFL experience and all his issues go out the window because he won’t be the one calling the plays. this dude just isn’t a good fit for what we’re trying to do with our offense

For me, this is a wait & see hire. An extensive NFL resume, with mixed results. A two year deal that obviously fits the budget at $400 per. Brady’s contribution is viewed by many was innovation, but reality is it was just a change to a spread with NFL pass scheme concepts. If he understands the spread, he certainly should have the NFL pass concepts.
Confident that if does not work, O will move on quickly.
Whatever the scheme, the guys on the field have to execute.

Yes, exactly
It’s the receivers abilities that Joe was able to take advantage of. Jefferson is the only significant one to replace.
But you ain’t replacing Joe. And he didn’t have the chemistry w his receivers until Brady arrived.
You defend guys like Chase and Marshall by using the sideline as an extra defender, but Joe could place the ball where they had no defense, with timing and trajectory, not velocity.
Ensminger had Burrow w the same receivers, and we saw what he was able to get out of them. Good, not great. I don’t see Brennan, E, and Linehan being able to execute close to what we saw this year, and that’s not necessarily being negative, just rational.

The offense is installed. They’ve said repeatedly that they’re not changing the offense.
But you have to change the offense. Brennan isn't Burrow so why would you think you can stick him in the same offense and it'll work no problem?
That same type of thinking is why Ensminger stuck Burrow in an offense he had no business running in 2018. He didn't understand how to use him until Brady showed up.

Well if Lester doesn't like the hire, guess I'm on board.
Not going to melt, but this hire doesn’t elicit any positive feelings from me. It’s hard to see the direction with this one.
Dude has been out of football for a whole year. He’s almost made it through 2 full hiring cycles before being hired. He’s pretty much the definition of a retread
