Mulkey was not a "steal." Baylor admins wanted her to leave. She wasn't even on speaking terms with the AD during her final season.
Also, Drew and Mulkey were never close like OP stated. Very different on every level. There's a 0% chance that Kim and Drew spoke about Drew taking the LSU job. None.
