you base this on 3 years at ole miss...he has a .741 winning percentage at USC and LSU

God forbid someone use his record as the head coach of a major program.

With key WTF losses at both places.

We fired Miles and have taken a step back
not exactly. miles' stubbornness is what caused the step back, not the other way around. if anything, what i see out of canada/aranda is encouraging. i think o has done a good job of trying to get lsu going in a new direction. the schedule is potentially much harder next year so it's possible that lsu will be improved but the record won't be so the progress could again be deceiving.

that td drive right before the half was refreshing. it felt like something aggressive that miles did not do, especially the last 4 years.

not that i recall. what did i miss?

oh and yes I am biased. towards winning.
who isn't? my point is people are only looking at the negative without realizing the positive and then acting pious like they have such high standards.

so the good receivers are not languishing on the bench?
no and that's a stupid idea. you have no idea what goes on every day in practice or in the classroom

I guess 93rd in passing offense is what you consider fully utilizing the receivers
like etling's limitations haven't been discussed ad nauseum on this board

the point about Tenn out-gaining LSU is that the game was much closer than the score

I don't care who the coach is, just that he is competent. this is objective analysis
did you see the stat i posted about 2nd half scoring?

O has not done what he stated he would do regarding the offense

He stated himself that he mishandled the offensive line situation
you know that even saban loses games right? no coach is perfect. at least he manned up and got it fixed. but don't give him credit for that.

there were missed opportunities this year. THIS YEAR.
no crap. who's arguing that? how many teams have perfect seasons? not many. does that mean that coaches all suck?

It is so refreshing not having cluster moments not getting the plays down to the offense from the box, time mismanagement issue, players doing the Meer cat prior to snapping the ball etc...

And yet we’re ranked 18th and going to an irrelevant bowl. So things are different how...?

I'm basing it on this year as well. Troy was his fault.

If by some miracle he can go the remainder of his career remembering to leave the coaching to the guys that know how to coach LSU may be ok.

The SEC is weaker than it ever was during the Miles era. Please take the blinders off. My god.

Big improvement from Miles and co.

Improvement is know defined at LSU by beating one team with a winning record and losing a home OOC game.

Troy sounds terrible but they really aren't a bad program.

Do you remember the monday night Tenn game? We were up 21-0 at home and lost. Tenn sucked and had a losing season. Is the Troy loss really worse?

Fine, except for the fact that the coach immediately preceding O, and the coach immediately succeeding O, at Ole Miss each had better records than he did.

Yes, a loss to a Sun Belt team is worse than a loss to an SEC team.

even an absolute terrible SEC team when you were winning by 3 tds entering the 2nd half? No way you can say O coached worse against Troy than CLM did in that Tenn game.

I'd like to compare seasons as to where LSU ranked penalty wise. LSU has dramatically gotten better this year! Which is an improvement from miles.

What?! You did not just ask that. Are you actually comparing the 2? Is that how off the rails this “make ourselves feel better” thing has become?

Are you saying Tenn wasn't an absolute terrible loss after being up 21-0? not to mention Tenn using a backup QB that transferred from LSU

Nothing makes me feel better about the Troy loss...but I wasn't chicken little like most of our fans and didn't give up on the season

The programs are light years apart. There are few if any SEC caliber athletes at Troy. Additionally that Monday night game was after Katrina when our team and whole region had just gone through hell and back. We were running on fumes and ran out of steam in the 2nd half. There is no comparison.
