We’ll see. You may be correct. The offensive play calling has been a big improvement this year from the last several years of CLM, which is a welcomed change n the sense that CEO hired an autonomous OC and has let him coach for the most part unlike CLM, who seemed to believe that he was capable to micromanaging the offense. The defense this year and in years past under CLM lived and died by the DC and the personnel.

The reason I think the jury is still out is because adjusting and recruiting moving forward will be the barometer. CLM was not able to adjust his offense to his offensive personnel (or let the OC adjust) and toward the end of his tenure, his recruiting in the trenches and at QB to fit his offense scheme was welll short of elite.

But I agree that it was pretty cool seeing the offense use the entire width of the field against Alabama, which eventually loosened up the defensive front to allow DW to gash Alabama for the 54 yard run.

This is the glaring fact that I have noticed lately.

So, as per The Rant's logic CEO is a worse coach than Miles because he lost to Troy, but a better coach than Dabo Sweeney who lost to Saracuse that got beat by LSU that lost to Troy?

You guys are correct, Miles would have beaten Troy by a couple of points, of course he would have lost to Bama by 30 and we would have lost the last 2. Anyone who watched us play regularly the last 3+ years of the Miles regime and did NOT want a change is an alien. Is O the answer? I have no idea but I am willing to give him a shot for a couple of years because we were going absolutely nowhere with Miles.

Ed will be here for more than a couple of years. Once we go on a tear, the recruiting will take off. It’s already about to blow up.

For the people who wanted Herman, I get it. He’s a good coach. But he didn’t want to be here. And for that reason we don’t want him. Give me the guy who loves the school/state over someone who never really cared about or loved LSU. Miles truly loved LSU, which is why it sucked to fire him.

Coach O is creating a positive environment which is going to produce positive results. Alabama is the current FSU and MIAMI of the 90s hand picking top Louisiana talent to build championship teams, if O stops that trend Alabama will die on the vine just like Miami and FSU did when Saban cut them off.

Bugs Bunny would often call silly adversaries maroons.

Old school insult. Classic!

Oops, didn't read the whole thread before posting. Sorry alumni95

I won't get into a debate on coaching abilities but LSU dropped two games to teams with less talent than them this year.

So you are saying we could have Miles and lots of great running backs but nobody to block for them or coach O who is building pretty good lines on both sides of the ball. Ok I will take O. You guys need to let guy recruit a year or two and see what kind of players he gets . Wow I Rememeber beating teams like last night by 3 and rant would be up in arms now we win by 30 and rant up in arms. OMG Florida State won biggly last night so hguess Fisher is greatest again I guess. Sickening, Guys hating on coach O no matter what results just miserable people. Love LSU and cheer like crazy .

Rememeber when Satan lost to all the bad teams when he just started coaching down south.Yes Satan. Now he has had time to get his players and program in place you do not see that . Give program time to change. Loved Miles but he did a lot of damage to program he recruited top heavy on playmakers not enough big uglies in trenches. Times are a changing .
