Ridley was a very stable, hard working, and reliable back for us and he will be missed. Ware is a home-run hitter, though, and I think we'll be more than fine.

You've got to move past your anti-Ridley agenda. He's gone. It was pathetic leading up to the draft. Now, it's just embarrassing.

He wont because he is always right when it comes to Ridley!!

See my sig. line. BTW, Lester still owes me 100 dollars because of his genious. Told me he would pay me when he could afford it!

Not to worry Ware is going to wear some teams out! Ware & ford will get the job done.

Spencer Ware will be the best RB LSU has had in ten years or more unless he has injury issues...

Ridley was mighty impressive on short yardage scenarios... money.

Ware will be fun though--looking forward to seeing him in action.

Those that criticize Ridley are idiots! I've never seen a back that gave more effort on every run and who got yards after contact like he did. YPC isn't the only way you evaluate a running back and can be meaningless in some circumstances. When were those yards gotten and how? A long run at the end of a game that is no longer in question is pretty meaningless. A one yard run that scores a winning touchdown against a good defense is priceless.

Ridley's YPC suffered because time and time again he was called to run on a defense stacked against the run because of our lack of a passing attack. How many times did he run off tackle on first down and how many times did the other team know that's what we were going to do?

I will miss him and so should you even if the new backs come through for us.

Ridley's YPC increased every quarter in 2010:

So seemingly, he wore down everyone.

No one is criticizing Ridley. Personally, i'm glad that we had Ridley, and he did perform very well. Running back is the single strongest position LSU has on the depth chart though. Ridley was a division 1 athlete who played great and ended up going in the third round to the NFL. Some people question his excessive playing time because he had several blue chips sitting behind him, who might not have his charming personality, or seniority, but were nonetheless blue chips. Indeed, Ridley ran for 105 yards against Texas A&M, which was one of his 4 100+ yard performances. All of these performances were accompanied with an average of 21 rushes as well. The Cotton Bowl he had 105 yards on 24 carries. Say what you want, but Spencer Ware had 102 yards on 10 carries, and he didnt run to the outside or do anything less "tough" than Ridley. Ware pounded it up the middle and then put a move on the quicker defenders and ended up with even more yards. Ridley was a great back, but if anyone was under appreciated last year, it was the other backs that sat behind Ridley.

So seemingly, he wore down everyone.
Except UNC, who he fumbled against which almost resulted in a loss for a first game of the season.

This whole consistent and stable notion is bugging me. What is this logical fallacy that assumes that if a back is fast enough to get break aways then he must not be consistent? Go look at Cam Newton, Spencer Ware, Michael Dyer, Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, South Carolina's RB, Wisconson's RBs... etc etc... running backs don't get evaluated at a 5 star rating by scouts fi they are percieved to only be good at power or speed, they get that 5th star because they are supposedly a true playmaker in any situation, otherwise they'd be a 4 star.

heavily, heavily, heavily, heavily skewed by a 65 yard 4th Q Td vs Vandebilt and a 118 yard 4th Quarter in the same game.

take that 1 run out and he still averages 4.44, which is more than he averaged in the 1st and 2nd quarters...

What was your draft prediction again?

LSU's offensive MVP 2010 (not even a close contest)

1st team All-SEC.

3rd round pick to the Patriots (I guess they didnt get your advice )

Has been one of the early performers at camp so far. Patriots experts and coaches are raving about him.

I guess none of these would have happened if he didnt get his 65 yard run!! BTW, I thought he didnt have break away speed.

I don't remember making a draft prediction, although I do remember noticing the difference between K. Williams and Charles Scott with regards to success in the NFL, and I do remember the resemblance of running style to Scott that Ridley has and the aparent preference for that style by Miles which is why I'll gladly predict a higher draft by Spencer Ware. Matter of fact, i'll bet you that Ware goes in the first round. IF Ford turns a corner then he'll go higher as well, but I think Jakori Gore will be the #2 rb this year based off how amazing he looked in the spring game.

Now that is one ironic line written by you. The person who follows me in every possible thread like a 2 year old and never says a word about the subject, instead throws out some insult about the place I live or whatever else you can think of.

Ridley was very solid.

Dude had 1,150 yards and 15 touchdowns in an offense with almost NO passing threat. That is not only good, it's great. The Patriots will LOVE having him.
