usually the starters play with the first teamers in scrimmages. That's generally how it goes. You think the 1st team QB should line up with the scrubs in practices and scimmages? It just doesn't work that way on any team any where. Quit being a cry baby.

Saturday Scrimmage Notes
i was really impressed with JJ's footwork, seems to me he is getting faster and making some good cuts outside the pocket when he scrambles. I think he actually outran his pitchman on one of the options they ran today
i bet it was to the short side of the field.

Miles is setting JJ up as his starter, dude. Nothing wrong with acknowledging the truth. He is going to do everything to build JJ's confidence and other peoples confidence in JJ.
Why do people have such a difficult time with this?

Defeats the purpose of "open" competition....

I certainly don't. It's what he is supposed to do. It's what his job is to do. A confident JJ is a dangerous JJ. You should get on board the JJ train before it leaves the station without you.

Lookout, he might crack the double digits this year...

God damn, I do hope this is sarcasm.

too many folks here, like the op, are wrapped up in their jjsucks agenda.
I think the main problem people like me are having is that the offense was so bad last year (other than the running game)it is hard to imagine there will be a significant improvement over what we've seen from our QG play the last two years with the same players.

I would love to see JJ have a good season just to see the meltdown by many of the posters on this forum. Other than that I don't care who starts just as long as they can help get us to the SEC championship game. If Mett can come in his first year playing bigtime football and beat out JJ more power to him. But it's just not going to be handed to him and it's not going to be made easy for him. He is going to have to earn it. Day after day, pratice after practice in the most difficult of circumstances. JJ has been the starter for two years now. He isn't just going to be put in the back seat that easily. But if Mett can do it, if he has the talent and intangibles neccessary, the cream will rise to the top and he will be your starter.

What a fool. Great motivation there chief.
BTW: Most people would jump solidly behind JJ should he succeed. Not having faith in him doesn't equal disliking him. You just are not able to see the difference.

well he suceeded in the last game he played in and reports are that he is suceeding in practices and scrimmages. I don't see you getting behind him in any sort of way. There seems to be a core group of posters that don't give him any credit for anything

One game and practice???
I don't think "get behind" means what you think it means. When JJ is a successful college QB, I think many people will be happy he is the guy. Until then, JJ will have doubters based on the way he has played. SO will Lee and so will Mettenberger.
Are you "behind" them?

I would love to see Jefferson play consistent ball for more than a game and a half...
If he can play consistent and actually does mature like Campbell then great, however, based on last 2 seasons he has to actually prove it before people rally behind him. Just like Jason Campbell had to do for Auburn fans to rally behind him, they didn't get excited after 1 game and had to win over the fanbase.

If only LSU played once a month, he'd be fantastic.

People get upset when posters do not get behind Jefferson but they get upset when that poster is behind another player they feel is better.

well thats something I can agree with you on. Glad to see you feel that way. It's one thing to be a doubter and another just to seem to hate on the dude.
