For a middle aged white dude, he sure was fast.

I think he is retired from teaching by now - the last I heard in the late 90's was teaching around Slidell.

I was on the north end zone. As soon as he caught it, you could tell he was gone!

I have vivid memories of this play as well. I can recall seeing them line up with no one over him, then Guidry hitting him with the quick throw and then - GONE!

That 1986 game was awesome.

My first game in Tiger Stadium. I was five and cared more about Mike than the score, but in 1987, I began to understand the concept of football and became the megafan I am today.

I see a much younger Pete Jenkins in the background in the last shot.

The fastest white man alive - at the time.

To me though, his catch against Tulane in the dome was maybe his most important catch of that year.

he wasn't the fastest while man on his team. The fastest guy on the team was white and from Wosdman high school. He didn't play except on special teams. His name slips me.
