do you agree that a bigger problem with our basketball team is no offensive strategy

Hell no. The stats prove it. There was a deliberate strategy and it worked well:

poor defensive set ups

Mismatches and depth are what hurt this team on the defensive end. They can play long minutes just not a complete 40 without getting tired. Defense takes energy and effort. They are capable just not capable for an entire 40 minutes. LSU needs more depth.

Lack of defined roles; too many tweener guards & big men

I wonder if Cook should have been worked into the role of starting point guard with Thomas and Smart at the 2 and 3 spots and Days coming off the bench? Certainly not at the beginning of the season but I'm wondering if Wade thought of working him into that role toward the middle of the season.

I would be more inclined to agree if the defensive woes were just limited to THIS season. The fact of the matter is they aren't. LSU had an 8 man rotation for most of the season. They had enough depth to defend (particularly considering Wilkinson, Leblanc and Gaines were ALL much more effective as defenders than offensive players). That Wade chose to play 3 guys huge minutes each game is not a matter of a lack of depth. It was a coaching decision. SBU was a top 25 defensive team and they only played 6 guys.

Also, there is a HUGE gap between not being an elite defensive team (top 20) and where LSU ranked (120+). That's not simply a "lack of depth" issue as there weren't 100+ teams who had better "depth" than LSU.

Wade has done a tremendous job overall. But it's ok to acknowledge one of his big shortcomings without trying to find every excuse imaginable to relive him of any fault whatsoever.

Agreed with everything except for the “offensive” problems. Wade has had our offense extremely efficient every year he has been here. The problem is defensively and with personnel. Thats it

yeah, I think because we don't run Daddy's CYO offense and it does not look as pretty as we would always like that there's not method or strategy behind this.

We were in the top 10 all year in offensive efficiency. I mean you really think running the Princeton offense with the kids we have would have been any better?

I mean...don't run the wishbone with spread talent.

LSU was an 8 seed and did what was expected win 1 lose 1.
LSU played a #1 seed competitively.

Tell us whats wrong with these teams:
4 Va
3 KS
2 Iowa
2 OSU
3 TX
1 Ill
3 W Va
4 Okla st

Several of these teams got the living crap beat out of them, even though they were favored to win.

What was the same topic, new thread and their problems?

Go ahead and break these teams down for us, hotshot.

We need 2 dudes off the bench that can get 8-12 points on their own.

And a couple of 9-foot tall guys that can hit shots from halfcourt too.

The rants fetish is losing the defense with a backdoor cut for an uncontested layup. Do that 3 times in a year and they will no longer say "streetball" .

These people love that shite to them that's a sign of a good offense and scheme

Lmao you don’t know what you’re watching. They run set-plays. And yes clearing the floor out for your NBA-bound players is actually a strategy. One that paid off in the postseason this year.
