He was my position coach and that was when Carter was president...truly one of the most innately decent human beings ever created...an amazing soul.

I worked in the Student Union back in the 80’s and he would occasionally come by the info desk.
The Union Building Director was Don “Scooter” Purvis who was an also incredibly good and descent person and he would drop by to visit with him from time to time.

He literally has not aged one bit in almost 40 years.

His role in helping create the Golden Era of LSU football can not be understated. It was significant. And anyone that was around and engaged in that era will tell you the same unequivocally.

The standards he was instrumental in putting in place are still around now.
