Didn't Serna smoke one earlier that was near a record
Not yet. The longest ball of the year was 432 ft by Arrambide.

Serna has the excuse of being younger and he has a lot of power potential
He certainly looks it.
But Bide hit 4 hrs last season in 73 PAs. Interestingly enough, last season he had 3 doubles and 4 home runs, which is what he has this season already on fewer PAs

Bide has no future at catcher in my opinion.
It's hard to argue that with what we have seen so far. Serna does look like the better defensive catcher already.

I'd take my growing pains with him personally and maybe move Bide to DH.
The only issue with that is, who do we have as a backup catcher then? Yamin? When was the last time he played catcher in a game? Unless the rule has changed (and I'm pretty sure it hasn't), if you move the DH into the field, the pitcher has to bat for himself.

That could have been a bad number from the track man. It was a hard grounder that went right into the grass. When asked if the exit velo was accurate, Jay didn’t really answer it if I recall. Also, it’s an outlier. If he had others near that 118, it would be believable.

LSU will be fine. Adversity builds champions.
I sat next to one of Sac States coaches on flight (after LSU won the last CWS. He talked about the strides that they were making in their program. He was very complementary about LSU’s talent. I had no idea that our schools would play this year.

They just lost a series to basically a junior college team. They're losing left and right. Everything is suspect and I'm pretty sure an assistant coach loses his job before the month is out

BTW, why is Matt McMahon still employed as Head Basketball Coach at LSU?
