Nick Saban aired his grievance, but the SEC didn’t budge.

This spring, the longtime coach (Saban) used an interview with Sports Illustrated to question the fairness of the SEC earmarking Auburn, LSU and Tennessee as Alabama’s annual rivals in a proposed nine-game conference schedule. Alabama pulled its previous support for a nine-game schedule, and, two weeks ago, presidents and chancellors from SEC institutions voted to retain an eight-game SEC schedule in 2024.

The comeuppance came Wednesday, when the Crimson Tide got served a gantlet of a 2024 schedule during the SEC's reveal.

Auburn, LSU and Tennessee are on the docket as rivals, just like the SEC had planned for the spiked nine-game format. In a pitting of bluebloods, Alabama will play at Oklahoma. And here’s the kicker: Alabama will host two-time defending national champion Georgia. Dates have not been announced.

TTT - What Saban is really saying is, it isn't fair facing a Kelly-coached LSU team every year.

Undefeated seasons are about to be a rare occurrence. It’s good for the sport. The expanded playoffs will help those strong teams with close losses to other good teams. The fans deserve better regular season matchups

AUB and TENN have been average lately, and LSU is rebounding....what is his beef?

I guess he wants Vandy, Kentucky, and Mizzou!

Anything less than Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt again is an unfair three game stretch for Alabama in Saban’s eyes. He’s the best coach ever but he’s also a huge bitch who’s excellent at playing the game and making sure he can cruise into the SEC championship with LSU being the only other top-10 talented team he plays in the regular season

The press conference with Nick Saban claiming, “I have always said we need to go to a 9 game conference schedule.” Needs to be played nonstop and Saban should be blasted from coast to coast.

What Saban really meant was, “I am for a 9 game conference schedule as long as I get to play Vandy, Arkansas, and Miss State every season.”

The portal is preventing Saban from hoarding four and five stars until their junior season. He’s lost that edge.

He’s also saying he was ok with Tennessee sucking for 15 years while they were Alabama’s permanent opponent but it’s “not fair” now tgat they’re competitive again. He was also ok with a 9 gsme conference schedule until he realized his schedule wouldn’t be the cakewalk he thought it would.

Just know, whenever Saban starts complaining about something, it’s never about the hood of the game or whatever other platitude he uses

Saban has become nothing more than a cranky old man that people tolerate because of his past success. If he's smart, he will retire after this season.

Remember the last conference schedule realignment, when Tennessee was shite, and all we heard about is what a sacrosanct rivalry this storied Third Saturday in October Bama-Tennessee matchup was?

I remember.

He wants to maintain Bama’s heated rivalries against Vandy, Kentucky and Missouri.

"You know people that don't know football are the ones that say this. Look these programs play hard and are worthy to play in the SEC. We don't take anyone lightly and these programs and those kids make you play your heart out."

"Its a shame for the fans and the players not to be playing these great schools."
