Um what? There was nothing wrong with his decisions to go for two when he did

Well considering they would have won in regulation if he’d have kicked either XP I’d say you are wrong

The last one made little sense. First one did. You can’t play for a missed xp. Which is rare. Even lsu hasn’t done it since game 1. The odds lsu was going to kick 2 fgs in that time were low. Most likely scenario was what played out. Bama would have won if he kicked the xp

This argument is so flawed. Every coach has a sheet now that works out when best to go for 2. If they kick the field goal chances are on our last TD we then go for 2 to make the lead 3 instead of 2. You can’t assume that just because we kicked the XP to go up 3 at the end we would have still kicked the field goal to go up 2. If they kick those XPs it does not mean they automatically would have won or it cost them the game, because then our decision making would have changed to ensure we were up 3/6 because those are always the right decisions to make.

Not being able to run the ball effectively cost Bama

Don't let the math get you

They scored with less than 5 minutes to go in the game. You go for 2 to take the six point lead and hope for a missed or blocked extra point (which isnt crazy against lsu). Hard to foresee lsu driving down and scoring that quick and giving you enough time to drive down again

Also this. People want to criticize the sheet when it doesnt work, but alot of math and analytical history is involved with building those.

His reasoning was 6 is reachable with 2 fg, but only to tie. No difference between 4 and 5, 6 is ok if you hold to 2 fg

At least thats what he said in his presser. I get it.

Yeah LSU would have had to go for 2 to be ahead by 3 if he kicks his extra point instead of going for 2 and not getting it.

That’s not a given. Had they kicked an XP, LSU would have gone for two on their last TD. If they were successful, it just would have been 25-25 instead of 24-24.
