If this is true, why aren't we hearing miles' name connected to the potential opening at Texas?
You're a goddamn fool

So one of the top 2 coaches in the country only had a top 10 team twice in the past six years and top 5 only once?
remember the 90s!

Other than this one, I would tend to agree with your list.
I'm not so high on Urban Meyer but your list is decent.
However, lookinga at "Body of work" and not just this year --- Mack Brown is on the Top 10 list, Fisher and Shaw are likely not -- along with Briles --- but I agree he's doing fantastic work at Baylor --- could he do it (or better) at UT or aTm?
What if Sumlin goes to USC, Mack Brown Retires and Saban does go to Texas, and aTm get Art Briles --- not saying any of this happens -- but it's not inconceivable in my opinion.

Good point. Miles is not even the number 2 coach on his own coaching staff...
...but he is number 2 in the country

I think people are forgetting we are starting to get pretty far from the 2005-2007 era of dominance.
Is this real life?
LSU went undefeated all the way to the nc game in 2011.
Last yr we are 1 play away from beating bama and going to seccg.

One great year out of 6 is not dominance.
LSU simply isn't as intimidating to opponents as they were in those years.
But thanks for playing.
I'm not degrading 2011.
But it isn't like it erases all the other years.
Oh, and its kinda sad if your hallmark argument is the year Les dropped the biggest coaching egg ever when he tried to institute the 11/5 Bama gameplan again for the title game with little modification.

this is what lsu football has become
weren't we a play away from losing to ole miss? probably a few other games also....oh i see it only works for losses

But yes, it is.
2005: Top 5 finish, gave a storied program their worst loss in over 40 years
2006: Top 5 finish, riddled with questionable calls and bad luck in our two losses
2007: National championship
You can't pick 3 years in the following 6 that were that good. Much less back to back to back.
So yes, this is real life. You should probably leave denial land.

I love how the pumpers remember the plays Lsu almost made, but always seem to forget the plays other teams almost made.
Take this past game for example:
"Lsu was 3 plays away from winning the game"
How many interceptions did bama drop?

Bama had to win the fricking lottery to even get into that game. They also got to watch us play an additional game against ga while they sat on their asses, rested & game planned against the only team they could potentially play in the nc.
Last yr we are 1 play away from beating bama and going to seccg and quite possibly nc again. Admittedly the d quit the rest of the season after the loss to bama. This year we are obviously a much worse team but the last two yrs we have been one of the best teams in the country.

I doubt they gameplanned much...their coaches already knew what we would do.

Last yr we had bama dead to rights and you only have to look at the stat line to see it. The point, which you are still completely missing, isn't that LSU "should have won" but that the teams were very evenly matched. The last 3 yrs bama has been outstanding but they have also had a lot of things roll their way. LSU the last two yrs has been neck and neck with them and the ball rolled the other way. You are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Aaaand we are already at the name calling part of the argument where you have no more material. Good work.

The stat line from last year would show that Arkansas was better than Lsu, and Towson was about equal. Why aren't you factoring those games into lsu's greatness?
Lsu scored with 15 seconds left to beat ole miss last year. Why aren't you talking about that?
And how is pointing out that you are completely oblivious to the world name calling?
