Peterson's pitches seem like they've flattened out the past several weeks compared to early this season and late last season. It's not hard for these guys to barrel up a fastball that doesn't move at all. He's also just trying to throw straight gas almost every pitch now and was mixing in some nice breaking balls early on


ETA: Mathis also has to have just flat out dropped more pitches than any catcher any recent memory. good grief

Part of me thinks him hitting 98 or 99 on the gun in the midweek early on against SELA got to his head and now he's overthrowing and losing his mechanics. He hasn't really had a good outing since that game.

I honestly think they have been balls, ump just isn't expanding the zone for them. their catcher is setting up outside the strike zone
