I guess that's why he R-U-N-N-O-F-T from Miami so quick.
I don't think you can lay into a multimillionaire professional football player for 40 minutes.

Oh the Saban-ites love for their dear leader is neverending.

frick Nick Saban and frick you for still not being over it.

The Alabama bandwagon is still parked in BR pretty regularly. They even sell scarlet "A" t-shirts at the Wal-Mart. Just get you some crimson and get out off the LSU train.

I believe the times that Saban lays into guys including Kiffin for mistakes even when they are up by 50 points is why they are #1

if you havent noticed he lays into them a lot more when up by 50 because thats when they get complacent and sloppy and most mistakes are made....when its a close game or they are losing he is constantly encouraging and trying to keep the team focused

It is really very simple: if your life consists only of winning football games, then Saban is your man and your life is basically shallow. But...if anything at all in this world, you know, like family, country, career, even God maybe...is more important to you, then, you don't really care that Saban wins at anything at all.

I don't care about Saban, I hate Bama, I love LSU and all things LA, I was simply commenting about greatness and what it takes.

Never settling for less.

many of the great coaches are hard-asses. Can't let their players and coaching staff get complacent. That's the method that works for them - nothing wrong with it.

Well, winning football games is his job, so that's what his focus is. Alabama football (LSU too) is a multi, multi-million business, so there's immense pressure to succeed.

And we only see the public persona of Saban. For all we know, he may be a great husband, father, and friend. Is he warm and fuzzy? No, at least not from what he allows us to see, which is a serious, stern, humorless, gruff guy.

But that doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad guy.

I'd think if he were truly a horrible person, those stories would get out, especially with today's social media. But I just don't recall much (or any) of that over the past 15 years. So I'll just assume he's a very tough, demanding coach, but isn't the devil.

Saban has the hand of the Lord upon him. He is touched by grace from above.

So Saban is the only Coach in America who would hold another adult accountable?

Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot and Vlad Tepis also hated mediocrity.
