Statistically, they are less likely to have differing views from from each each than every other race in the country

When Miles did this, he was reviled for it.

It's the whole reason O started letting former players around more, to separate himself from Miles during his political campaign for the HC spot.

O did this to himself.

I posted this last night after listening to AFR

I listened to it. The problem is RC doesn’t realize the gas HE threw on the fire. States “ he doesn't want to talk bad about LSU, when he attends games he buys tickets in the stands...he doesn’t want to take anything from them...but if LSU needs him, he’s there! He’s gonna keep it real.”

Nothing wrong with keeping it REAL. But when you have a problem with a family member, a teammate, your coach, your team, a boss, the company you work for...you handle it internally and keep it real. You don’t go to social media and blast them. That’s not keeping it real, that’s being a bitch and causing a fire storm given your platform.

He’s an Ambassador for LSU and should act like one! If he saw a disconnect between coaches and players, then go to them and be that bridge to bring them together

RC is out for himself, Matt is such a fan boy, that he keeps him on his show, so he can be around him. He is out of favor with O, so he latches on to whomever he can.

To some degree he is right. The guys on the team were coming off a TREMENDOUS season and two of the main pieces of that success were gone (Aranda and Brady). O wasn't going to step in to coach either side of the ball, so whoever he brought in was going to have to build trust with the players.

Clearly the defense has NEVER been on the same page with Pelini and it is evident they simply don't trust what he is asking him to do. If/when the players don't believe in what the coach is telling them to do that is a disaster waiting to happen...and it did.

The offensive side is probably a bit different because Ensminger is still there. Yes, Brady was the difference maker last season. But Ensminger isn't so egotistical that he said "frick this! I'm going back to MY offense! The offense was playing relatively well in the first three games (after an ugly first half in the opener). But there were a LOT of new faces to break in and the news guys are quite on the level of who they had to replace (CEH, Chase, Jefferson, etc). Still, the addition of Linehan was curious...at best. He hadn't worked with college players in a LONG time. It wasn't a big addition on the recruiting trail. And I don't know if he brought a ton to the college game that younger, and probably more hungry guys couldn't.

O made those hires because he wanted guys who would essentially be complacent in their roles at LSU and not look to advance their careers. O didn't want to have to replace a "Brady" year after year. Loyalty to O is as paramount as merit...maybe more as we have seen.

While you hate to think a 60 year old life-time college coach wouldn't know this, but if competitors are constantly trying to poach your staff then that is because you are doing something RIGHT. Take it as a complement that a Big 12 school thought your DC was good enough at YOUR school to become their HC. Or that an NFL team thought your OC performed well enough to warrant them making him their OC.

Saban's staff is basically a revolving door. That ain't because the Alabama program is performing poorly every year.

He should’ve never gotten on Fox News, never wrote the book, never done 60 minutes, and shouldn’t have been standing in between the governor and the Vice President when Pence visited. He made himself a political figure and it became too much about Coach O and less about LSU. I don’t think RC made it any better but O should’ve handled all this a little differently.

This is spot on, I personally hate that we live in a world like this currently. The problem is that I don't make 7 million a year and have a large dependence on 18-22 year old Black Males for me to be successful professionally. The man in charge has to be smarter than this but O just could not help himself, this was about O letting his ego get the best of him and make it about him totally oblivious to the big picture. This for a coach who is not a coordinator and a person who is supposed to be an expert at building a family culture going hand in hand with recruiting this was and is a death knell.

I disagree...

You tell your team how you feel politicaly...be open...

You don't pretend ...you don't let politically ignorant players dictate anything...

O is almost 60...

40 years ahead in life over his players...

They don't know what they don't know...

If complementing Trump is a problem for some, then go play for some liberal pansy...who probably isn't honest...

I'm done with the young woke culture who doesn't know squat about business, work and taxation or role of government in capitalist economy.....they don't know about much of anything...let alone who Trump is and what he's trying to accomplish

Like a lot of former players they are more loyal to Saban than to LSU, this includes RC. Moscona has never liked O; he was 100% Tom Herman. O refuses to go on his show and Moscona bashes O. RC has been a bad influence on a leaderless team of very talented but spoiled young men. when your team is losing a player can only do one of two things; 1. cry and whine about it or 2. work your arse off to make it better. We all know which option they chose! THERE IS NO I IN TEAM, BUT THERE IS IN SELFISH!

Excellent points. O let the success go to his head and went on a speaking, partying, drinking, womanizing tour.
