Ryan has animosity toward Shaw, so that dream is not happening anytime in the near future.

Really? Why is that?

I wish he'd want to be the head coach at Shaw and get some of those athletes there that Hank used to get. Barnsfather sucks.

Shaw has gone through a rough stretch, but hasnt Bairnsfather gone to 3 state championship games at Shaw?

Some old black guy at work told me LSU hired a black head football coach and white people killed him before he got to coach his first game.

If he's good enough, and the cards fall right, more power to him.

Just win baby.

While it is debatable whether coaching LSU is Ryan's ultimate goal. . .

Stating he wants to be the first black coach is not the same as stating he wants to be coach because he is black. . .but not false indignation regarding the completely merit-based system that is college coaching.

If it can happen in MS it can happen here. I'm proud of the rant in this thread. Only one douchebag had a problem with Clark saying he wanted to be the first black head coach. Then he went to insulting him in some other fashion I believe.

Yeah and got his arse kicked by Bastrop. It was ugly.

That was on the 4-A level and benefited from a lot of the New Orleans schools still missing kids from Katrina. It made the playoffs easier.

He came in and completely got rid of the triple option system Hank had that no one in the state could stop. The I-formation conservative, predictable crap he ran at Holy Cross won't win a state championship.

Ryan used to say "Louisiana" and that's it on SNF/MNF. Now he says "Louisiana State University". Everybody looooves a winner.

ETA:

Not that it matters. Just clarifying.

State Pride is one thing Ryan doesn't lack. That is one of the reasons I follow him on twitter, because he always talks about Louisiana.

Clark has gotten a lot of props from the current db's for helping them out this summer. Reid especially seems to be close to him.

The NFL doesn't "hate" the Steelers. They are one of the most popular, profitable franchises in the league.

The Steelers just can't/won't play within the new rules framework the NFL is gravitating toward. Not saying I agree with all (or any) of the changes, but the rules are what they are. It's not "heady" to keep breaking them when everybody else seems to be figuring it out. It's stubborn and counterproductive.

I was being facetious. Pittsburgh is actually middle of the road as far as penalties go, which is why I'm asking where that info was coming from.

No, but for 8 to 10 more years. Then Frank Wilson will be the first black head coach in LSU history.
