Russell S. starts his run 5yds behind the LOS, the defender is 20yds on the other side watching the run develope and then choses the angle he wanted to take to catch RS and he still couldn't stop the TD. RS is a football player he's quick and not afraid to make moves, Not a track star, sprinter. And there are lots of sprinters that don't have what it takes to make moves. I think RS biggest assest is his mentality not speed and physical aspects.

It appears not.

Funny how people see thing so incredibly differently..... I feel (as do a lot of Tiger Fans) that RS has one of the best work ethics on the team. Even though he has been mismanaged his entire career at LSU he still gives 110% on every single plan and seems to have a great attitude on and off the field.

I just watched the video and how on earth do you see him "pull up" in that video? The only way you can find anything wrong with that play is if you are watching it looking for the bad instead of enjoying the good..... I swear I feel some tiger fans only watch games and highlights to point out the bad instead of enjoying a great game or "great play" in this instance...

I'm with everyone else, even ignoring the TT/Moss comparison, this thead is still a joke and completely off base.

RS has not been mismanaged; he's just not very good. He has good - not great - speed. He has decent - not good - hands. He gets tackled by the slightest contact. And he's kind of small. No knock against him; he's a good Tiger and I appreciate him.

When I saw it live it looked like he got gassed after running SEVENTY EIGHT yards. I watched it again and it confirms my suspicion.

The guy is a good athlete, but perhaps not a track star.

RS may not have the best flat out speed but he is very quick and has some moves, which makes him dangerous. I do agree that his hands have not been consistant, but he's still a weapon that I think has been mismanaged in his time here. Not saying he should get the ball every play but I do feel that he should have been a bigger part of the offense since day 1.... Regardless of all of this though - I think we both agree that he is great for the team and brings a positive attitude and leadership to a young but talented WR group.... Wouldn't be surprised to see him as a part of the coaching staff in some capacity at some point in the future.

While I don't disagree with this point I feel like perhaps these inconsistencies have come out in practice. Doesn't this explain him falling back on the depth chart?

Look at the sideline when he runs by them.

I'm not sure what it was, but I'm certain CLM drew it up that way on the back of a TJ Ribs napkin.

it's a counter play. Auburn just ran it against us the week before, and UF used to run it a lot with Harvin.

I was hoping we'd incorporate it for Shep when we got Billy G, but that was the first time I'd seen it run.

Yea he didn't give 100% cause someone who doesn't give 100% always dives like that putting forth the extra effort to get in the endzone. Some of you people are never satisfied!

I don't think I've seen it done with a handoff chest bump.
Nice acceleration into secondary by Shep.

First of all no where have I said Randy Moss has good work ethic. I'm comparing TT's physical build to Randy Moss and then questioning RS's work ethic. There are so many players who don't have the physical build but put in the work ethic and become a great player much like TM7. Don't you think there are hundreds of football players who have to give the game up because they are not blessed with the size and speed of a RS.

Secondly, if you can't see the slight pull up around the 30 yard line then you are not looking close enough. My first thought was maybe he was tired, but there is no way that is the case. He pulled up slightly and got caught by a guy running all out to catch him. And yes, I understand the angle argument.

One of the bad elements of TD is people constantly calling other posters out with never being held accountable. It's so sad to see so little respect for other posters. It's okay to disagree but to use name calling and in some cases foul language moves a discussion board to having just a bunch of name calling screamers. The more level headed posters slowly drift away leaving all the name calling screamers.

Keep in mind that the guy who chased Shep down is a former UGA player, that even started some games there, that runs a 4.4 40 and had an angle on Shep.

It looks like RS has incredible acceleration, but he just not have top end speed. Regardless, he gives 100% on every play and I think he is a great Tiger.
