I was at the northwestern st game where Mett started the 2nd half, if that was any indication of 2012, I would stay

Shep is a very smart kid.

If he does leave, things are not as they should be on the Ponderosa.

I still can't believe he played here for 3 years and never threw a pass.

I'm thinking if he leaves there are definitely some things going on behind the scenes that we're not going to like if they ever see the light of day

im going to laugh when a good offensive coach gets ahold of shep and he ends up being a starting qb and jj aint even sitting the bench some where then we will see it was a misuse of talent

This.

A halfback pass in the last 3 years would have been nice to see.

Use him like bama used Maze. Shep has to have the better arm.

that's why our slot WRs and DLo didn't really do much

This is spot on. Both Peterson & Clement along with Shepard were underutilized because of the inability to stretch defenses over the middle or down the seams.

There was no excuse for the offense not to be able to attack those areas of the field with the players the team possesses(ed).

Well there are two excuses & it's Miles' system & the inability to develop a quarterback who could actually read a defense.

this. It needs to be F****** fixed. This is inexcusable. I wasn't starting threads about this during the season because we were winning and those things didn't matter but after a performance like that on a national stage something needs to be addressed.

Shep would be the third wr at best next year, OBJ and Landry are better.

who gives a shite we still would be better of with him next year. Make plays like they did for Percy Harvin and utilize his talents.

Never understood the Harvin comparison. They are a similar weight, but Harvin is shorter/thicker. Shep goes down on first/no contact.

On Shep staying, if he does, yes...he'll likely be #3 receiver. But even is so, #3 receiver could put up better numbers than #2 receiver this season.

I know Miles has his system, but when we had receivers and a decent QB, in Miles system, our receivers put up good numbers. I believe if Mett is as good as we think he is, we'll do so again.

This X1000.

Face the reality folks. He was a great high school player and it just wasn't meant to be in college. I hope he comes back because I think he is a great kid, but don't act like he was ever going to be all SEC or anything like that.

He may be. How he was used at LSU is embarrassing. The guy averaged over 6 yards per carry and saw his carries drop from 30 last year to 7 this year.

Hate to say it, but LSU wastes more offensive talent than any team I have ever seen.

If Shep has surrounded himself with that many idiots that think he is pro material, it explains why he is one of our highest profile, under-achieving recruits ever.

If that happens, I'll streak through the LSU quad.

If used properly, he could have been a very productive player at LSU.
