I had a good view of it. It appeared he said,

"That's fricking bullshite!"

Twice.

There once was a time that we mocked ULL for having little man syndrome. "What?!?! Matt Heath stared in our dugout and disrespected us. Let's bean him next time!" Now LSU is the one with the little man syndrome. "SELU's coach had the umps check Reynolds' hat. That's calling us a cheater in front of national tv and a couple of thousand people at the game. I'm disrespected. Arrrrggghhhh!"

Hate to say it, but I tend to agree. Baseball players get too worked up over stuff like this, or bat flipping, or a player trotting around the bases too slow, or staring at an opponent too long, etc, etc, etc. It's just silly. Play the damn game.

Cheap shots, trash talk, etc. happen every play in football and basketball, and there's real physical contact between opponents there.

If our opponent does stupid stuff, skip the "I've been disrespected" or "my integrity has been challenged" angle. Just play.

And if it really bothers you, go ahead and beat the ever-loving shite out of the opponent for doing it. That's the best reaction and revenge of all. But stop all the belly-aching.

SLU coach was ok for checking hat if it looked doctored

Russ was ok for getting fired up and saying what he said

Everything's being overblown - this type of stuff happens all the time in baseball. Now tbh, I would be OK with RR apologizing directly to the coach for cursing and calling him a pussy after the game, but I don't think it's necessary

Well the difference being there's real physical retaliation in those sports well and it doesn't always get you ejected from the game either.

I'm pretty sure Ben McDonald admitted he was one of them when this incident happened during the game.

Yeah, that would have showed em. "I'm a tough guy. Don't disrespect me or I'll throw at your hitters."

If the Reynolds thing never happened, we may have been forced to discuss the emergence of Matthew Beck. I really like the way that kid is throwing, I just hope they're careful with his usage. Not necessarily the amount, but he's throwing in games almost every other day.

I know he's a big kid, but he is still a freshman.
