A college pitcher shouldn't yell, "Frick you, pussy" to a coach. I understand he's mad, but next strike out, you lick your fingers and rub the spot on your hat like you've been doing all game. Was it a bitch move by riser? Yeah, who cheats on a Wednesday night out of conference game?
Bottom line is, if an umpire made the call, he wouldn't have said told him that. Everyone glorifying RR for yelling across the diamond at riser that must have had parents who didn't teach you any sportsmanship.

There once was a time that we mocked ULL for having little man syndrome. "What?!?! Matt Heath stared in our dugout and disrespected us. Let's bean him next time!" Now LSU is the one with the little man syndrome. "SELU's coach had the umps check Reynolds' hat. That's calling us a cheater in front of national tv and a couple of thousand people at the game. I'm disrespected. Arrrrggghhhh!"

Its an adult accusing another adult of unsportsmanlike behavior, not a 6 year old. And Riser isn't even that much older than Reynolds.

I'm on team should have had a reaction. It was messed up, but I believe it was the wrong reaction. You could obviously tell it was dirt on his bill, and it sucks that he got checked, but it wasn't mid series. It was before the next batter. He could have gotten checked, then struck out the next guy. He lost his composure because he can't take a lick and got pulled.

A college player staring into an opposing team's dugout happens all the time. As CPM said, in 30's years of coaching, he's never seen this before. Nothing to do with any little man's syndrome. Just a typical former tulane coach's lack of class. I'll take CPM's reaction as being the more realistic/knowledgeable response over any ranters' here. Did Riser not think CPM & Coach Dunn could not see any goo had it been there? Insinuating that they were condoning cheating, too? Not sad, just no PC involved here, old school baseball.

Class has nothing to do with it. If the coach from the other team saw a foreign substance on the bill of a pitcher's hat he has every right to ask the umpires to take a look.

How do you know it was a psychological edge he was after? Maybe he really thought he was cheating? I'm not condoning Riser and his actions any more than I am Russell Reynolds'. It should have never happened, but a kid got his feelings hurt and mouthed off like an adolescent pre teen. I've been accused of cheating on tests because I never studied, but somehow made A's... I didn't call the teacher a frickin pussy.

Usually when people get mad, its because they got caught.
Ive never been accused of anything and got angry because I knew I was innocent and due process would settle it.
