I can see the confusion if you haven't seen anything about the new format so I'll give you a break.

I am going for my second degree in chart building though

Hot damn man.

The photo is confusing

No it's not.

1. There are 6 'major' bowls
2. 2 will host semi's. These 2 will rotate very year.
3. A week or so later there is one championship game, the site of which is independent of those bowl sites, being annually contracted out to highest bidder.

Thanks. I wish you well--I just wonder about the curriculum in chart-building. Graphic arts is a good choice for a degree plan--pays pretty well once you get the degree and land a job in a highly-competitive field.

I don't think it would pull much meaning from the regular season

It would actually make more games matter

With teams losing money on bowl game tickets, they should play everything but the championship at the higher seeds venue too.

8 teams

I just don't see the playoff being any better or worse than the BCS system was.

One of the dumbest posts I've seen in a while.

Look, no playoff system will be perfect, and there will always be those that complain. But it's absurd to say that a 4-team playoff is worse than a 2-team playoff.

And I'm fine with a committee selecting the teams. The current BCS rankings are calculated mainly from human polls, and we all know the current poll system is horribly flawed.

So I'm fine with a committee, similar to college basketball. Sure, we can all bitch about who's on the committee, but at least the committee's big enough to hopefully smooth out any biases among individual members.

Didn't OSU have a better record against a better schedule?

Bama's saving grace was barely losing to a team at home

Maybe the best thing about this new process is voting on Tuesday. It never made sense to me how it is possible to review and thoughtfully consider all those games in less than a day and vote on Sunday.

No it's not. The BCS was perfect. This will suck large.

I like the 4 team playoff better than the BCS because we get to see one more game between the best teams. I was wanting more after watching the nc game and the rose bowl. Would have loved to see Florida st. take on michigan st.

The new system will be such an improvement for collage football , I was never a bcs hater , it was an improvement from the way it was before but it outran its course by quite a few years ....

I wouldn't expect anything but a cluster frick next season. These people aren't going to watch every college football game. I barely have time to watch just LSU games.

The BCS worked. They should just do the top four of bcs get in. Every year you guys bitch about baseball and basketball seeds, it will be the same. A panel of people will decide who gets in. A panel of people that won't watch every game.

They didn't have the best season after they beat LSU. If bcs rankings were done after the game, LSU would have still been #1.

frick, I thought the 15-16 NC was coming back to NOLA in its 4 year rotation. That all changed.

Huh?

The argument can definitely be made that they were indeed one of the best 2 teams in the nation and thus deserved their spot in the title game, but it CANNOT be argued that they had "the second best regular season in the USA." Oklahoma St had an identical 11-1 record against a tougher schedule.

One can debate who the better team was (Bama vs OSU, and I'd agree that Bama was probably the better team), but there is no debate about which one of the two played a tougher schedule.

I hate this playoff idea because eventually they will want to expand it thus making the regular season less meaningful.

This is the most backass, ignorant argument I always hear.

The current set-up is after you lose once the remainder of your season is meaningless. Hell this happens to half the teams after week 1

How is the regular season so meaningful when half the teams are basically eliminated after one week?

He very well may hate LSU, but he certainly doesn't hate Les. And you don't think Archie/Condie/Long would put their SEC bias over their bias towards "their" school and against LSU? If anything, I'm glad these three are on the committee.

It's not similar to basketball at all. 68 teams get in to the tournament. Football will only be 4 teams. It's a ridiculously small number, with no set criteria for how the participants will be chosen. And 13 isn't a very big committee.
