we may still end up in the high 40s but at this point it's hard to see them leaving us behind.

We would have to win the tourney to have even a shot at hosting

here is how the RPI breaks down

33 Vandy 29 points ahead
34 Baylor 16 points ahead
35 Oklahoma 3 points ahead
36 northeastern 2 points ahead
37 OK State 1 point ahead
38 LSU
39 USCe 3 points behind
40 Ohio State 11
41 UCF 11
42 Troy 13
43 Southern miss 30
44 Dallas Baptist 40

So reasonably we could drop to 42

but I find it hard they leave behind an SEC team with 17 wins.

even then it would be a reach

probably would have to beat Arky, Florida, & Ole Miss the rest of tournament to even get a sniff

I'm hoping with another victory we can move up to a 2 seed.
We could win it all and not really be close to hosting, but
we would then be a solid 2 seed.

NOT 17 wins. How do some of you keep confusing this?

They are 15-15 in conference play. That’s 15 wins. They are now 2-1, with a chance of ending 2-2 or 3-2 or even 4-2 in the SEC tournament.

Tournament wins do not get added to conference record. Had they won 17 games in conference and been 17-13, then there would have been no question they are in NCAA tourney.

Even at 15-15 with 2 SEC tournament wins though, I still believe they are in.

Last night on the "SEC Now" segment after our game they said this is the first year that the selection committee will add conference tournament records to regular season conference records to arrive at total conference records. That was the first I'd heard that but I can only assume they knew what they were talking about.

Tourney wins count in the overall conference record for the committee.

They've mentioned it before. The committee absolutely looks at the SEC record including the tournament. So they are all taken into account.

TigerCub linked the sheet they give to committee members and it does include the conference tournament results in the conference record.

LSU got the two wins I thought they would need. Heck of a game.
