No but they ended up being a national seed which means there is still time to turn this around.

I agree there's still time. The team is very talented and LSU can beat anyone with the 1-2 punch of Lange/Poche. Just saying I wouldn't use last year as my example of success.

People want to continue to use CPM's post season history against him at this point in the year but ignore the fact that his regular season history has been just like it is so far. Play a weaker non conference, start off slow once SEC play gets here, continue to tweak until he finds the right guys, then makes a nice run in May. I understand the concern I just don't understand the people that want to write them off. If you are going to use his history of post season play to assume they are just not going to win it all then you have to also use his regular season history to assume they can figure it out.

Most baseball "fans" on here are only happy when they are miserable.

It's some kind of psychological thing that I'm not qualified to analyze but it has something to do with people who sit at home, don't attend games and haven't accomplished anything significant in their lives so they have to criticize successful people in order to feel better about their own miserable existence.

The only regular season this is similar to is 2011 where we lost a ton of road games and had an RPI in the mid 20s. Right now it's 34.

We haven't played only easy OOC teams this year. Maryland and Houston Classic are much stronger than typical.

You make terrible points.

It's hilarious watching you flail around in all these threads telling everyone how much better you are than the rest of us.

Not all of "you." Just the ones who claim to be LSU fans while posting things like "this team is garbage, the coaches are terrible, we are horrible." That kind of baseless, Catastrophe Syndrome (Saban's description of LSU football fans when he was HC at LSU), mindless types of comments which back up my earlier comment.

I've never said anything of the sort. Yet....

Your exchange with josh about our Omaha record under Mainieri puts you in that category.

So it's not actually people who say the team or coaches are terrible. It's just people who are realistic.

Got it.

You make great points but CPM's teams make a run in May. Even that team's last four sec series were Sweep, lost 2 of 3, sweep, won 2 of 3. They were 8-3 in May and 11-3 from the first sweep to the last series. They just dug themselves too big of a whole early on in SEC play. This team has not dug themselves in the whole by starting off 4-2 in the SEC.

Plenty of reason to be concerned. No reason to write them off. No reason to give up hope.

Paul Mainieri should have a statue out front of the Hoover Met. Of course, we don't hang banners for SEC Tournament titles around here. Winning the SEC Tournament should rank about 5th on the priority list for LSU baseball.

If 'realistic' means posting incorrect 'facts' about our team's record in Omaha just to make it seem worse than it actually is, then, yeah.

Yup. But you aren't graded on your performances in May at LSU.

1-4 in Omaha during the new era of college baseball is reality. You're going to have to learn to deal with that.
