Every point the two make in this article is correct. Also consider that LSU is the only program in the BCS+ era to hire two coaches that subsequently won their first national championships. The athletic administration and boosters knows what they are doing.

Thanks, Les. It was real.

It all has to do with coaching. We had the Dline talent but our LSU coaches (Brick and Les) did NOTHING with it. Go watch the Vikings - Packers game from this past Sunday. The Vikings coaching staff were talking about what a great find Danielle Hunter was late in the draft. He's an impressive physical specimen who received little to no coaching in college. The Vikings said when he came to them he didn't know any of the most basic pass rushing techniques and if he had he would have been much higher up in the draft. That's all on Les...

There are highly successful coaches who want to coach at LSU

"want" to coach here is way different than "will" coach here. No doubt many up-and-comers would love the chance, but no current established, successful coach is coming here.

Otherwise, it's a solid column.

Meanwhile, the Tigers' pop-gun offense has ranked 94th or worse nationally in six of the past seven seasons. There's simply no excuse for such putrid production with the kind of talent LSU annually fields on offense.

This right here is inexcusable with the NFL players we've had on this team.

It's almost unbelievable.

The recruiting is not what many have believed it ti be. Things may be worse for a while before they get better.

Everyone should just copy/paste this article to their clipboard to have ready to paste into the multitude of threads where people just don't get it. Especially over on the SEC rant. Excellent summary of the situation for clueless people.

Is there any reasonable doubt that it is past time for Miles to go?

Godchaux will be in the league. I'd wager heavily on it.

Christian is at his max level though. I like him on our squad, but he has a talent ceiling.

The bottom line is if LM were the CEO of say a car company, was one of the top paid execs, hired a top paid team VP's bought the finest steel, tires, electronic s, etc.

Then the new $80K Tigermobiles broke down on 4 of 12 road trips for 3 straight model years, how long would Tigermobile stay in business?

I think we're at a point where the fans for change simply cannot convince the "8-4 is acceptable" crowd any other way.

Since 1/9/12 we have seen the ceiling. That is not changing. Things happen fast, ask Malzhan. But these guys are being paid millions to win NC's.

Sure the unknown is concerning but, at least you try to win another NC. At leasr not have to witness what we have seen the last 3 weeks.

Not a bad analogy. I do not understand the cowardly attitude of "but who will you get to replace him?". This is such a loser mentality. It has been clear for some time that Les is not going to get this team where it needs to go. That said, Alleva et al had better have done their homework and have a first rate replacement.

Meantime, another de-commit...

Miles is really not a very good coach. I was always puzzled why Hunter was not a much more dominant player.
