You did not factor in their COG for the jello shots, their labor costs, O/H, insurance, taxes. All this before they record profit.

But, they still made a boat load of money on jello shots!

Tell me you went to public school without telling me. You can’t calculate profit without first assessing costs.

FFS this place I swear

Ok so $332,686 net revenue. What do you think all those O/H cost add up to for the 2 weeks?

Even if it's something like $200k, they still pulled a profit of $132k in 12 days. I think any bar or restaurant would love those figures.

OK, those figures of yours looks about right and made me take a crack at it. See below

Gross Revenue: $475,150
Minus Money Donated: $142,464
Minus COGS: $118,788 (25% of Revenue). Normally COGS are +/- 33% with food ingredients but alcohol has a higher markup). It would be even lower with just alcohol but we have the other ingredients and jello.

Gross Profit: $213,898
Minus Expenses/OH: $42,780 (20%) Only 20% as we are just accounting for Jello shots
Net Profit: $171,118
Minus Taxes: $47,913 (28% of Net Profit)
Net Income After Taxes: $123,205 (26% of Gross Revenue)

Going deep in this thread! Should you count the tax deduction from the donations?

And compensating Coop? Heard his neck is sore and he's having trouble walking!

I think that’s a fair procedure to do but the reality is they purchased the Jell-O shots already made and did selling Jell-O shots take away OR add to their regular business. I would guess it added to it and since their employees aren’t paid a percent of sales, their normal operations covered ALL of their expenses other then COGS.

Your're just talking about revenue from sales.

Profit = revenue minus expenses

You’re talking about revenue. This is not profit. They are not the same thing. At least account for the cost of the shots.

$332K is more like gross margin, not profit.

Hell I’m an engineer & even I know that.
