Dude, he was a legit, bonafied pro. Drafted, traded etc

You sure about that?

RJ Luis Jr. never played in a regular-season NBA game.

• 2025 NBA Draft: He went undrafted after playing at St. John's University.

• Game Appearance: He only participated in some preseason/practice action and never appeared in a regular-season NBA game, missing time due to injuries.

Its done, he was a pro. This isnt a grey area. On this certain guy, i can see why the SEC draws a line. Just step away from it being LSU, and realize what youre arguing about.

It's not often you see some disprove their own argument in the same post He wasn't drafted.

As for being a "pro" he was no more a pro than any of the countless international pros that have played college basketball for decades...including this year or the multiple guys who played in the G-league before playing college basketball.

FWIW, I never thought Luis would be eligible. But it's silly to draw some arbitrary line calling this guy a "pro" because he, in effect, signed a minor-league contract, but not consider players who played solely in the G-league or international pro leagues, ineligible "pros"

My own personal drawn line for Luis is that he voluntarily forwent remaining eligibility and is attempting to come back. That's why I personally never felt like he should be eligible.

In that way he is different than the two football players who presumed they had exhausted their eligibility. And different than the overwhelming majority of international guys who just grow up in completely different system.

But you can find 50 different guys looking for eligibility with 50 different extenuating circumstances. So opinions are likely to vary wildly by situation depending on the availability of information.

Absolutely. I can prove it. Ge was traded between teams for OTHER PRO players.

Let that sink in and get back to me on how you are traded, between NBA fanchise programs, and not be in that league

quote:

, Luis was traded alongside an $8 million trade exception to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Georges Niang and two future second-round draft picks

Lee, its not some random process to get to that point. He had to hire agent, apply for the draft, attend workouts etc.
Honestly, simply hiring the agent used to be the line of eligibility.

He got hurt and cut by pros, but under a pro CONTRACT. Only AFTER that did he decide he wanted to fleece some college for money.

If LSU listens to some paid for local district judge, and rosters this guy, the we deserve whatever happens after, when it falls apart legally.

But hey, thats what Wade does

Correct, he was IN the draft, went undrafted, and signed a CONTRACT with a pro team.......

Glad the semantics of the statement gave you a little life...

Why do you continue to ignore that LSU is not part of the lawsuit? It’s RJ and his legal team.

It's sunk in. He was traded to the Celtics so they could get rid of Niang. He was fluff and nothing more. Once he was traded, he was basically sent to the G league. Never started for the Celtics in the regular season - thus NOT a pro.

Again, he never started or played ONE millisecond in an NBA regular season game - which had he - he would have then been a Pro. But he didn't, so he's NOT even close to what you're claiming he is. C'mon dude, don't be a retard.

A judge is paid to interpret laws and other standards. He is supposed to be the one that is unbiased. So, what the judge that ruled in LSU's favor is a bum, b/c he's local? What judge would it have to be in order for this to be ok? Again, don't be a retard.

I bet your wish LSU still had Brian Kelly and Matt McMahon.

Is this "pro player" on LSU's roster? Or is he on Kansas' roster?

I guess that "sleazy Will Wade" is just following the crowd when it comes to rostering "pro players".

Stankey is going to sue Will Wade personally because Will hurt his feelings.

LSU has a guy who is currently on the roster who was IN last year's draft, WAS drafted, and signed a CONTRACT with a pro team. The only difference is it was not an NBA team.

If signing with a US pro team is the line in the sand, then none of the guys who signed G-league contracts should be and have ever been eligible. Yet, they were/are. The G-league is a PRO league.

As for "declaring" for the draft being some line in the sand, even the NCAA itself didn't not find that to be a big sticking point until relatively recently. Previously, an underclassman could declare for the draft, participate in the NBA combine (if invited), remain in the draft and, if not selected, return to college.

THAT is the problem with the NCAA and conferences. They just retroactively make new rules as they go when circumstances they should, but never seem to anticipate, occur.
