He looked old at the Heisman Ceremony. Sad to lose another legend.

Ironic that Gary Bussey outlived him

None whatsoever.
Maybe one of the wildest-arse coincidences I have ever heard of.

I remember wondering who the old guy behind Joe was at the Heisman ceremony. I was surprised that it was him.

RIP.
I had a long conversation with him in South Bend the night before the LSU - Notre Dame game in 1998. I was in a bar with some people who were good friends with Jimmy Taylor. Hornung was holding court at the bar. Needless to say he was quite the celebrity around there. When my friends told them who they were and explained their connection to Taylor, Hornung ended up hanging out with us for a good part of the night. Great guy.
He was the only one who could get under Lombardi's skin without getting in to too much trouble.

The night it rained oranges. That was the most memorable game of my time as an LSU student.

I remember him and Jim Taylor as a great combo in the backfield. Seems like Paul kicked FGs too.
