The point of the Rant is that it is a Rant. The Ranters are not the Athletic Directors.

I don't really believe that your reasoning abilities are as shallow as that.

1. I'm working Labor Day.
2. I'm still pissed the game was so close.
3. I think the lion's share of blame for "this game" is on the players themselves
4. The Les sucks as a public speaker schtick is played out.

Correct, mine aren't, about half of the rant isn't, the other half act like Miles knocked up sis and then skipped town. He is not perfect by a long shot but some of the critiques are just assinine.

And accordingly, are we to infer Curly should still be at LSU? Don't see Florida or Oklahoma dropping from elite status.

Refresh my memory but didn't CUM have a 5 loss season with TIMMAY at the helm. Criticism should be handed out equally but the rant can't see past it's on stupidity.

yes, he did. and i remember this argument/discussion with friends, as well as seeing it posted on the rant. wasn't that tebow's first full year running that offense and didn't they win the national championship the following year? completely different situation.

positigers instantly lose credibility when they try to compare miles to saban and meyer

I'm not a posi-tiger (realist) and miles is not the coach that Saban and CUM are. My point was that Meyer would be catching hell right now if he was our coach. Did you actually use the he had a young QB excuse to take up for Meyer? That door swings both ways.

They lost 4 including the bowl game. One of those was at Baton Rouge, in a game they could have easily won. Florida 07 was clearly just shy of a championship-caliber team. Can't seriously compare that to either of the past two seasons for LSU.

while Michael Ford can't even see the field after three fumbles(because he doesn't know the playbook)

Seriously? so why in the frick did four true freshman play on defense? Why is it automatically the coaches fault when a player doesnt know the playbook? I dont know about ford, but a guy named loston was quoted saying he needed to learn the playbook. He was so used to just playing off athletic ability alone because everyone he played with and against in highschool was far superior than him. But the second he got tho the sec everyone was on the same level.

I agree, other backs should have seen the field. But that is more along the lines of coaches playing favorites. Our sr rb didnt see that many carries either.

The public speaking part, I heard several interviews this summer that he handled perfectly. Admit it if he had won 10 or 11 games last year this would not even be a topic except for the people that just out right hate him.

I can damn well compare it to last year, LSU was a injured QB and a blown call from beating the eventual national champs in bama. Sounds familliar to UF '07. UF '07 lost several heartbreakers and some they won they should have lost. Sound familiar. Miles is not perfect but damn at least admit these comparisons are correct.

but he didn't win 10 or 11 games last season, mainly because of some of his inadequacies (e.g. clock management). also, many of those wins were ugly and could have gone the other way.

i actually like his speaking. makes me laugh. he is the george w. bush of college coaching.

This goes for all teams. Ask a bama fan how tight there asses were during the UT, LSU, and AU games. Could have and should have lost all of those. A little bit of luck is not a bad thing.

yes, because that young QB went on to win a couple of national championships and heisman trophy. just a hunch, but i don't think JJ will obtain either of those. just because JJ plays like a young QB doesn't make him one. that is one of the coaching problems miles most people are talking about.

Tebow is a once in a generation player and yet still struggles his first full year at the helm, and thus so did UF as a team. JJ is not Tebow but give him more than just 1 game in his 2nd full season as a starter before you pull the plug on him. Oh and yes Crowten must go.
